"The legacy of heroes— the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example."

Source: Spot.ph

As what I've observe nowadays, people's visions for our country are going on different paths. I believe that there is a need to remind everyone something today.

Pleasantries, at this moment I would just like to commend our heroes for their act of heroism and patriotism, as a threshold to the freedom of our country from the cage of slaveries. With that, I will forever be grateful for their timeless love and sacrifices to fight for our nation. However, as a youth of today, I can not contain my inquisitiveness as I tend to zoom in the picture of our society in the verge of globalization and modernity. I was able to discern that societal issues are not the main problem, pandemic, poverty, corruptions, afflictions with other countries and such are not the core, but ourselves. And in an instance a bulb might light up disclosing;

Who do you think would enrich the legacy of our known heroes to save our distressed country?

To discuss further, let me dissect these mere terms. By definition, heroism implies the qualities and characteristics while patriotism means the love of country or it also defines the devotion to the welfare of one's compatriots. They might be defined differently but if these two will be adjoined together, impossible odds may change and overcome. Even from what we have learned about the stories of those remarkable people, some sacrificed their lives just to serve and save our country wherein the freedom that we cherished currently is the fruit of their immolation. Nevertheless, that freedom was overly taken advantage anymore. We can even observe that freedom of expression can now be made as an excuse to criticize and mock someone's personality, status and life when people in the old times was being deprived by their rights to express theirselves even just a single thought.

Unfortunately, Jose Rizal's "hope of nation" which is supposed to be the the light of the murky path of our society are the ones who got blinded by the injustice in his own land or they are the ones who are injustice themselves. We youths, are flourished with knowledge cause we got young minds, we can learn and explore but seems like we got so full of that knowledge that we tend to become idiot anymore. Take a look at every angle of the happenings of our society nowadays, well I don't intend to pressure you all. I am just enabling you to be aware, open your minds, loosen your narrow visions and ignite the love of your own land, most especially to your fellowmen. Our heroes left their legacies and we have the responsibility to take care of it, to emblaze it.

Despite those, I still believe that we have some heroism and patriotism inside of us. And now let me ask you the question again,

Who do you think would enrich the legacy of our known heroes to save our distressed country?

I bet you already know the answer. So? Let's bounce back Generation Z! Every ripple starts with a little small drop of water. We don't need capes to be a hero, cause in our own way, we are capable on leaving a legacy of a great name and a great example.
