Often times I myself, before I am redeemed by the Lord, I always thought that the angels are magnificent, powerful, and especially when I came to know the Lord, I always thought that angels have that "special co-working relationship" with the LORD.
Even so many times, when I know that my Heavenly Father is close to me, often times the spirit of unbelieve will try to stir me off to think that the heavenly beings (angels) have a closer "privilege" to the LORD other than us because they listen to HIS instructions.
But the Bible says otherwise:
Over here I just learned something very interesting at today's sermon with a new angle understanding the Word of God, is that when apostle John saw the vision that the angel took him to see, at the throne of God, this is something that I was pointed out to observe.
Let's start from Revelation 5:8, speaking about how Jesus (the Lamb of God) was addressed by the 24 elders (the redeemed ones)
Revelation 5:8
And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, reach holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints...
And then the sermon directed me to notice this part how the angels addressed Jesus:
Notice that when the redeemed ones, the 24 elders, actually addressed Jesus as 2nd person, You; while the angels cannot address Him directly and has to address Him as a 3rd party?
The pastor reminded in the sermon, when was "you" used? It is when you are face to face, close to the person, within proximity, within conversations, only then you can use that, just like I am writing this personally to you, sharing with you this post.
The personal it is for the 24 elders to address Him directly!
And do how do you address a 3rd party? Usually is when you are either not there in person, or there is no closeness to the addressed person you are referring to; where "he", "she", is being used, yes?
Isn't this a revelation when angels cannot address God directly, this also means the is a certain distance maintained between God the Creator and the angels, the created beings?
How privileged are we who are saved and redeemed in Christ could be so closed by our loving Almighty!
So many times we can be easily thrown off into intimidation just because the Heavenly beings are much more powerful in strength and ability than us (fallen) humans, but the truth is that we received the uncontested Grace of God, His favour and His undivided attention, all fully paid by the finished work of Jesus!
So much so we can run to the Father and call upon Him, "Abba, Father!"
Definitely something new and worth remembering, recorded in the blockchain as long as it still exists!
