Hello,

Origami is a traditional ancient Japanese art consisting in creating shapes by folding sheets of paper without the use of glue and scissors.

Origami is also called the resulting figures. Paper folding became widespread in Japan after the 7th century.

For a long time, this type of art was available only to members of the upper classes, where it was a sign of good manners.

In the 1930s, Akira Yoshizawa developed a system of arrows and patterns that is still used today to describe the illustrations to the models. Yoshizawa is considered to be considered a great master of origami and until his death in 2005 he invented many patterns.
