#EndViolenceBANGLADESH

This hashtag is trending on twitter right now after of what happened on Bangladesh yesterday. As well as #EndViolence, #EndViolenceAgainstWomen and #WeStandWithBangladeshARMY are being used with the tweets.

Honestly, women abuse is already existing and rampant around the world, especially in Bangladesh, but it got worse after some men formed a group and is trying to harass women, specifically women and teenagers who are fans of BTS, a Korean popular group. The name of the fans of the said korean popular group is ARMY, who really admire and appreciate their songs and efforts a lot and also their campaigns about Anti-Bullying, Racism, and speaks for the voices of youth, like us. ARMYs listens to them despite the language barrier between them, it's just so lame why other people kept questioning us why we kept on listening to their songs even though we couldn't understand it like, there are so mamy platforms, websites and apps that can be used in translating? Also, Because of their songs, they have really helped many people, emotionally, that's why they were invited to speak in UN last time, this year, I forgot when the exact date. Their songs were uplifting, insipiring and encouraging especially young adults, but we are diverse since we are consists of different ages, genders, races and ethcity all around the world.

For those people who haven’t heard of them, let me give you a short info about them.

BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan or in korean language 방란소년반, which when translated in English, means, ‘Bullet Proof Boy Scouts’. They are known as Bangtan Boys as well , is a South Korean boy band that was formed in 2010 and debuted in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. Their fandom name or name of their fans are called ARMY or Adorable Mc for Youth, and as I have said earlier, that we are diverse, consists of many different nationalities, ages, genders, races and ethnicities from around the world. The kpop group consists of 7 members named Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jungkook. There stage names are:

  • Kim Namjoon – RM

  • Kim Seokjin – Jin

  • Min Yoongi – Suga

  • Jung Hoseok – Jhope

  • Park Jimin – Jimin

  • Kim Taehyung – V

  • Jeon Jungkook – Jk

I have mentioned there group in one of my article by the way :

And also used some of them as portrayer for some of my characters in my story:

Anyways, as I have said, those men who formed a group to harass specific group of women just because they listen to BTS’s music are kinda alarming. It’s so lame, is that how they are insecure about women and girls admiring the kpop group? Violence against women has been existing and it got worse after these happened. Even I, as an ARMY, have experience being ridiculed and bullied but the Bangladeshi ARMYs are experiencing worse and I frankly want to cry and help them, and the only thing that I know that I can do is to raise awareness and use my platform here as a tool.

These are the links who of articles who made a report about the abuses:

I admit that there is a twitter account who made a story and pretended as an ARMY who got abused and took advantage of the situation clout and we regretted believing her, but that doesn’t mean that women harassment is not happening there. Apparently there’s a video of a guy who shouted to a girl just randomly walking on the sidewalk. The guy shouted an insult to BTS saying “BTS motherf*ck*r”, assuming that the random girl is a fan of the kpop group they insulted. You see, toxic masculinity sucks, just because guys do not have mustache and are looking feminine doesn’t mean that they are gays. I don’t remember much if their country was the one reported who said some bad impressions against BTS.

Also, those men from Bangladesh, tried to just not make a group in person but in many platform as well, especially in twitter and facebook. Their social media accounts name “Team Copyright”.

Wherein they report each and every accounts they see supporting BTS, and one of our twitter voting teams are being reported as well but gladly, they’ve got their accounts back. Those men even reported some of BTS’s accounts just to satisfy their needs. From reporting accounts to actually harassing women and ARMYs, not just in social media but also in face to face is disgusting. These kind of people takes advantage of this vulnerable situation just to hurt other people.

Link is below

For now, we, the ARMYs kept on monitoring and observing for any information and updates regarding about this matter and we will not shut up about these. It is that everyone knows about what’s happening around the world for it to be avoided to happen towards other people. Those people (BTS) and us ARMYs, are already been facing many struggles, whether it is racism, bullying, being accused, ridiculed and being a victim of xenophobia as well, just because we trust each other; BTS trusts us, and we trust them. We treat each other as family because each of us made us feel welcomed despite of what we are experiencing from the past until now.
