i wish i was still a hardcore noiser like y'all....
too busy for free ( programmable ) money i guess.
i've been grinding #Splinterlands, though. i'm really liking the new rewards system. i earned 40 end of season chests last season, currently at 34 for this one, plus 1-5 chests per day from my Focus. great stuff. looking forward to Wild/Standard ranked split in a few months!
i don't have much else to share. busy work days don't give me much thinking / writing time. i have thoughts about various crypto things, but not at all fleshed out or that shareable.
ho hum. image kinda related. i love beating up on Yodin Zaku.
on billionaires:
https://pluralistic.net/2022/05/11/a-dent-in-the-universe/#eminently-guillotineable
i had not seen the URL for this until this post. he’s not *wrong*….
i imagine it’s only a matter of time.
rough beats for crypto right now. i've been so busy my wife was the one to inform me about LUNA evaporating. i'll need to research that one, very intriguing. and now i see ( thanks to y'all noisy people ) that ol' dirtbag Marc de Mesel is second guessing his investment in BCH....glad i took your money while i could, you skeeze. hahaha.
sorry if that's cynical, but i still see crypto as technologically/socially revolutionary, in weird ways sure, so i don't really give a fuck if a rich white guy is worried.
and my portfolio is still up. some specific items down, but i'm waist deep in casually/passively earned tokens. no stress here. at least not about my silly little coin stash.
wish i could be more active.
anyone want to join a #Splinterlands guild? i'm the de facto leader of New Lands, and it's kinda imploding. free extra 2% DEC per win, i can't be bothered to enforce season DEC contributions, but i will kick assholes.
much love all.
image: Coinbase has disabled market orders for WLUNA. trades they/bots can game ONLY
feeling mildly jaded with crypto at the moment....reassessing my approaches, but one thing i can say for certain:
BCH achieves its basic stated goal. it works *very* well transferring value from one place to another. QR tipping is helping me feel less dissatisfied with things. there are worse things than sharing money with frends.
i'm fully moved into my new [old] place but we're not fully settled. it's hard to find places for all our little bits and bobs.
my cats want to explore the larger house but there are poisonous houseplants we need to secure before they can wander, so they've taken to waking us up very very early. love them, but they're awful sometimes.
my work is going well but it's just engaging enough in its mindlessness that i can't quite let my mind wander to my own thoughts, which is a bit vexing. at least i'm not talking all day, which drains my introvert mind like nothing else.
enough for now. how are y'all?
NFTs - the gentrification of cringe....

in the course of tax preparation, i got some more concrete numbers on my noise.cash earnings....
at time of tip, i earned a total of ~$311.23 over the course of 2021. at the current price, that's only $185.69. glad i actually spent some of my BCH. i mean, that's how it's supposed to work, right?
BCH going to ~$1200 in April 2021 and then to ~$1500 in May helped, lol.
last weekend to do my taxes, so of course that's when i'm tackling them. realizing much too late that i should've kept better records of my crypto, but i am discovering many helpful .CSV files on the various platforms i use.
i'm just starting my Hive accounts....i've done a lot of little swaps so it's going to be painful, but at least i've got the blockchain record to refer to.
i think i've got most of the rest of it sorted out. here's hoping i don't get audited lol. apparently my country doesn't pursue the big tax evaders/fraudsters, they like to audit the poor people. God bless America? 😅😅😅😅
bummer, seems like noise doesn't think i'm a good tipper anymore....maybe i just need to be here a bit longer again.
i wanna tip y'all 😅😭
edit: prepare to be QR'd i guess!
i've been away a while, but i certainly can't *stay* away from noise. a cozy little crypto home (part time at least).
it snowed here today, around 3 inches, which will make getting to work interesting. it's already melting so there are now enormous puddles in my front yard and driveway. i walk and take the bus, so let's hope my feet don't get too wet.
how have you all been?
i've mentioned before that i like idle / incremental games. i found a new one modeled after Diablo 2, called Rakanishu. i love the reference!
https://rakanishu.netlify.app/
it's a little more active than some other idle games i've played, but it makes sense for the setting. you're fighting evil, after all. you need to pay attention!
it has surprising depth and the feel is very Diablo consistent. a perfect time-sink for me. maybe give it a try if you're bored or want a simple Diablo fix ( minus fancy '90s pixel art ).
note: dev says it probably doesn't work well on mobile.
squeezing in a moment to say "hi!" to y'all. busy busy days. i'll be fully moved in a few weeks, and then it will only be the 40 hour work week stealing my time. at least my new job is not stressful.
a few other things of note:
-- my cats and doggo are still cute!
-- i'm making much faster progress in #RisingStar now that my card collection actually updates (lol). i'm buying packs whenever i have enough STARBITS.
-- i think i play against <1% real humans in Ranked #Splinterlands, but bots are so much easier to beat, so i'll take the DEC i guess.
-- i've been selling my a good portion of my airdropped SPS to buy DEC as DEC price declines against it. this gets me *more* SPS airdrop and a bigger DEC bank for buying single cards i want. the remaining SPS i've been using to buy Chaos Legion packs.
-- i'm still far away from my current short-term goal of level 2 CHAOS Summoners, but we're getting there.
-- i've been investing further into projects on the Harmony blockchain, and i'm getting a little tired of the SmartBCH cul-de-sac. it was interesting to see the price of GOB bounce and start climbing again, but i still think it's wildly overvalued and i'm not investing there.
good to see y'all still grinding here. i've been very busy. ugh.
for some reason i've been craving (and enjoying) really hot and spicy foods lately. not sure what that's about. any thoughts?
miss you, frends.
tiny reasons i love my wife, number 1:
she pronounces the COVID strain Omicron with two m's: "Omicrom." it's stupidly cute.
apparently i was only utilizing a small portion of my Rising Star cards. clicking the link on the Cards page resolved the "issue."
evidence that reading the [f*cking] docs ( in this case just text *right there* ) is important.
after ??? months, we've got a hot and fresh #NoiseAphorism for you, number ???, coming from u/DAX11:
https://noise.cash/post/1vq9vwz0
keep your house in order i guess.
( given the original post's context, i really have no idea how this....even.... )
apparently my new job and noise don't mix.
a lot more physical than my last job, but it feels good to be so active, and i'm solving spatial problems rather than cognitive ( personal? societal? ) ones.
a general thumbs up but also i miss my little crypto drips.
i've also been reading more criticism of crypto, and i'm mildly heartened to see that critics often have a very narrow view. not that they're necessarily wrong about their slice of the space ( NFT wash trading, Bitcoin indoctrination, that sort of thing ) but there are more things happening that i feel are at least trying to do good / interesting things.
miss y'all.
these made me lol. they're unrelated.
[V]indicate is pure genius, honestly. not sure who made it, though it seems to have some credits at the bottom of the card.
i found the Twitter grab here: https://blog.dshr.org/2022/02/ee380-talk.html
it's good to read as much pertinent criticism of crypto you can find. the community is actually very small, so we're likely to find and repeat the same arguments over and over. widen your perspective and occasionally consider that you might be wrong.
( i guess just expect these goblins.cash updates regularly 🤷 )
image explains most of what i want to say, click to embiggen: reducing runway from nearly 1.5 years earlier today to 150 days....you don't have enough A to take advantage of that PY....and millions percent on $64k? k....
this sort of APY won't attract serious investors, only vultures, and it serves to further confuse the eager sBCH user.
i can imagine YOLO APR seekers, the same ones that pumped and dumped most of the DEXes on SmartBCH, are buying now and staking with itchy trigger fingers.
i'm still watching this project. it's not over yet, but i'm seriously skeptical.
of course DYOR. and i'd love to hear differing opinions if you see merits in the project so far.
lerk's OPINION TIME: day 2 of goblins.cash!
so, the site is up. you can stake your GOB. everything is functioning like an OHM fork. congratulations all, welcome to DeFi 2.0 on sBCH....
hooray.
they even upped the epoch APR recently. it was ~43k% APY this morning. now it's 693k%.
is the hype machine working?
let's consider the Goblin DAO (first use of this title, on the site itself) treasury: currently boasting $55k in value. but as i understand it, it is made up of LP tokens, so called Protocol Owned Liquidity, or POL. the current disposition of tokens in the LP is unknown, but it was at one point half GOB...
is it fair to declare this value? yes, it keeps the exit door propped open, but the docs also describe fees from these LPs as profit for the treasury. how can that be, though, if they will never be withdrawn?
and if we see price decline, then it is more and more GOB propping up the rebases of other GOB....
it's Goblins all the way down. yes they will allow bonding with other assets. yes they plan on adding other features on top of this rebasing DAO structure, but the bridge to the future is literally just Goblin hype.
and not everyone will ( 3, 3 ). i would bet on it.
finally: consider if i showed you a picture of myself. gave a name, therefore doxxing myself. do you have any recourse against me? can you nail anything to this identity? try Googling/DuckDucking Goblin team members, or the company they run. what sort of results do you get?
please do research on rebasing DAOs, OHM forks, TIME / Wonderland. i'm seriously not trying to FUD here, but i believe people should have realistic expectations of this project.
final thought (my current opinion): if you are staked and plan to remain staked because of tHe InSaN3 ApRRR from an unproven project, you are not actually gaining any value. these systems need apes to bootstrap effectively....but then what?
because apparently i care a lot (or i don't want sBCH users to get burned by parasitic OHM-fork APR crazed degens), let's talk more about goblins.cash!
wait, the site still doesn't work? hmmmm....
i was talking about bonding earlier, and the available options to start all involve LP tokens. you'd essentially be locking liquidity into the protocol. i like that.
i was thinking there hadn't been many additions to the GOB-flexUSD pool since it was first paired...i forgot i could just look at the MistSwap pair analytics:
https://analytics.mistswap.fi/pairs/0xc20a4f3012ba2df47544d4926b19604fa777fb01
i counted 12 additions to the liquidity pool, totaling almost 84 GOB. the pool contains 508.5 GOB at time of posting.
what am i trying to say? the protocol may indeed function exactly as described, but part of the inherent risk in a ( 3 , 3 ) based system is defection. there are many that DO NOT and WILL NEVER believe that others will cooperate. as such, they will take advantage, and look to do so quickly.
if you've locked your liquidity forever to get a token, yes you're trading the potential IL onto another party, but is the asset you traded for worth it?
lerk's opinion time: hold off on bonding, hold off on buying, until some of the dust clears. the sBCH hype is not as deep and powerful as on some chains, the pump will likely be lower, and those looking to exit with juicy APR in their pocket will do so that much more quickly.
NFA, DYOR, etc. i'm just a lerk. what do i know?
image from Goblin docs --> https://docs.goblins.cash/goblins-protocol/market-dynamics
i believe this section is meant to be reassuring, but it makes it seem like more of a Ponzi (dyor)
follow up to my previous post about goblins.cash --> https://noise.cash/post/1rgnz657
it's launch time aaaaaaaand the site is still not up, people are buying at 3x launch price, but at least i have some more detailed docs:
docs.goblins.cash
sloppy.
i expect some price correction once rebasing starts. those that bought early are probably looking to exit early. bonding at this stage might be a sketchy proposition.
EDIT - another thing about bonding: currently only available with GOB pair LP tokens....the early buyers have not LP'd any GOB....
NFA, DYOR, etc
goblins.cash launch has been a bit disappointing, and now after pushing the site launch back 4 hours, they stealthily add the pair to MistSwap and a third of the initial pool has been snatched up....

meh.
a looooong while ago i posted about a (very chill, no big deal) conspiracy. the lead developer of SmartBCH, Kui Wang, seemed to also have been involved in the creation of the CoinEx SmartChain, with the release of the CoinEx chain coming on the heels of the development work on SmartBCH.
if there's an overlap between the projects, it's likely just knowledge and code improvement, and hey, we all got smarter, so no big deal.
well, it seems like WaterLoan Finance (waterloan.finance) is a money market on both sBCH and CoinEx Smart Chain. weird coincidence.....or is it?!
aaaaanyway, that doesn't really matter. money markets are very useful and help provide liquidity for chains. good stuff! and currently, WaterLoan is offering a WAT/BCH LP farm with ~1100% APY
the WAT/BCH pair is on Benswap for anyone interested, and you can stake your LP here --> https://waterloan.finance/farm
note: the WaterLoan website defaults to showing stats for CoinEx chain. when you connect your wallet, you'll see the sBCH stats. the LP farm APY on the CoinEx side is not as exciting, so don't get confused if you see 80% APY at first.
and of course, i'm sure you'll do your research.
lol this is kinda petty, but this guy has me blocked, yet i saw his post in Explore....
@Laurenceuuu has it right i think. just give it away.
how is it too much work? how?
i've found the best NANO faucet --> https://apollonano.com/shooter.php
it's a simple multiplayer "Bullet Hell" game where you shoot enemies while dodging their shots, picking up NANO along the way. unfortunately you need a mouse/touchpad and keyboard for the controls.
i accidentally played it for an hour straight (the NPC enemies are easy to beat, as was Ivan)....for 0.000674 NANO lol
Crypto Royale ( cryptoroyale.one ) pays way better but is way more stressful. plus i like to diversify my crypto, and you can say i was faucet testing.
image is me (Unnamed) absolutely DOMINATING the high scores 💪
i'm getting to the point where it's much more useful for me to view tokens in terms of other tokens.
i think this is a (healthy) side effect of interacting with HIVE and its layer 2 tokens, but it comes in handy in most EVM chains as well. knowing the balance between your farm token and the protocol token is just as important as fiat value profit considerations.
stating it another way: what may seem like profit in USD might make you more impoverished on the chain itself. if these economies are to survive, users will need to balance their fiat needs with those of the protocol. snatch and grab techniques exit into a system reaching its limits (and failing), thinking they've outwitted the other market participants....
but that means that we need to be able to spot unhealthy protocols and that's something that will likely take a lot of hard knocks to learn.
a first for me: so early into a hot project (from pedigreed crypto folks don't worry [too much]) that the site is overloaded.
i have 24 hours to stake for rewards, the site has been live for 45 minutes, and i'm freaking out looking at a blank page.
breathe, lerk. even if you miss this opportunity, there will be more crypto.
and i checked it again....AND IT LOADED LET'S GOOOOOOO
i decided to investigate a bot i played against recently in #Splinterlands....
turns out, IT WAS A FARM! cue horror movie music sting!
here's PART ONE of my investigation. this one got away from me lol
the original bot i played: oahuz16928643 --> https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_bcebca47b4da50b432de930214ece4b3
i plugged that into Hive Blocks --> https://hiveblocks.com/@oahuz16928643
and about five days ago, our bot, let's call them OAHUZ, gifted cards to another account that we'll call ORPEF. turns out, ORPEF did *the same thing.*
now, all this bot nonsense doesn't really matter, aside from nuking rewards in Bronze, that is....but bots give real players in lower leagues opponents 24/7 which is an absolute must for a healthy ranked game, and they can be outwitted once you catch on to their patterns.
anyway, i followed the bot-gift-chain for a while, and here's a non-exhaustive list:

i've got more thoughts on this, and i'll be talking more about the booster selling accounts, DEC farming, and how this interacts with HIVE, Hive Power and resource credits....all of these bot accounts are 100 days old with i assume no HIVE investment aside from the Summoner's Spellbook....

what signs determine a bear market? decline in price.
that's it. that's the basic definition. we can add to this general FUD, which can contribute further to price decline.
in an relatively unproven market like the many overlapping bubbles of crypto, price decline in some assets *CANNOT HELP BUT CONTRIBUTE TO THE DECLINE OF OTHERS* regardless of true value.
this is a valuation game at its core, and seeing someone dumping their bag of value (the one just like yours) when you're not exactly sure why it had value in the first place can be QUITE SCARY.
but we have more metrics than this ape-like behavior mirroring. i'd like to point out one small piece of analysis, pictured below. look at the amount of xMIST minted recently. 20 million plus. off the chart in fact.
someone's bullish.
and continuing the trend of my recent posts, SmartBCH tokens (the good ones) have stabilized in price denominated in BCH.
USD (read: fiat) is only one piece of the tapestry.
final note: the recent xMIST mint is not large compared to the history of the DEX, but it is a *strong* signal of confidence in the current circumstance.
image captured from --> https://analytics.mistswap.fi/bar
quick follow up to my post earlier about PRICE --> https://noise.cash/post/l763867v
in the chart below we see TANGO denominated in wBCH and you can see as "the market is crashing", we have twice the buys as sells and wBCH value, while rocky, is *not* plummeting.
look at things clearly. USD will fool you. and use your own brain, too. i'm just a lerk.
