Today I want to tell you what's the importance of taking iron tablets


Iron is a mineral very essential for a healthy life. Most of the iron is present in the red blood cell.


IT contributes to the transmission of nerve impulses.


1.YOu Have Iron Deficiency Anemia.


Without a healthy level of iron in your red blood cells, there is decrease transfer of oxygen from the lung to body parts which leads to fatigue, weakness, and dizziness.


2.You are pregnant


Women who are pregnant need more iron(27mg/day) than the normal amount(15-18mg/day)


3.You have an infant

Babies build a store of excess iron from their mothers.IF you bottle-feed your babies then you should add iron-fortified in the milk.


4.You menstruate

It depletes iron levels in the body that's why women should take iron supplements.


5.You are doing exercise

6.You are experiencing regular blood loss


Regular blood donors and patients of the GIT issue should take iron supplements.

7.You are on dialysis


8.You take iron depleting medicine


Some medicine responsible to decrease the iron absorption from gut.if it leads to anemia then see your doctor.


Most people show a good response to iron which is in the form of capsules and some need intravenous iron. Ideally, you should take iron supplements on an empty stomach because the food can decrease the amount of iron your body absorbs.
