Hello everyone,
How are you?
Usually in our home when someone suffers from pulling muscles then they just apply the warm cloth on it, but it's also dangerous because warm things vasodilate our vessels and more blood comes to that area which leads to more swelling.
Tendons and ligaments are involved in the strain which can cause more pain.
You should apply a cold compress for at least 20 minutes it will help to reduce the pain and swelling. Don't forget to go to the doctor for the proper treatment.
Yes! I've sprained my ankle quite a few times in soccer and coaches always suggest icing for 15-20 minutes and then switching to heat for 15-20 minutes and then returning to icing. Also, I've heard that once you sprain something once, it's much easier to sprain it again.
