The Intrusion of Lesser Things

The problem we have with valuing relationships is not in the knowing but in the doing.

Think for a moment about how easy it is for the unimportant to intrude on the truly important in our relationships.

It's @ladyhanabi again, today we'll talk about the attraction or intrusion of lesser things.

Have you ever pondered about how you place value on things compared to relationships?

Here are some scenarios that may hit a nerve on you:

• You wake up early and you're about to pray to give praises for another day of blessings but you heard your phone beep and decided to grab it, eventually forgot about praying.

• Your best friend is pouring out her heart to you, butyou’re distracted by the notifications on your social media accounts.

• Your spouse is talking about something really important, and your mind keeps wandering to the fact that your plans you made with your friends.

• Your child is actually talking to you for once, yet you are so pressured by the tasks of the day that you find yourself rushing the conversation.

We could discuss an infinite list of reasons why we give relationships a lesser priority.

How do we change and realize the value of relationships?

First we renew our priorities, and then we act on those renewed priorities.

We will never change our relational priorities by continually doing an internal examination of our priorities.

The only way to change our priorities is to begin to make different choices in your relationships.

Here's something that I want you to ask yourself.

What do the ways in which I spend my time and money say about the top priorities in my life?
