Relationships are painful.
Relationships are wonderful.
We all live in the drama that plays out between these two truths.
It is I, @ladyhanabi and today I'll share to you something personal, something that made a great impact in my life.
Relationships: Pain and Wonder
I think of Marly (my mother) and Elewin (my father) when I think of the drama of relationships. Married for almost 23 years, their life together had started strong. And then, with a suddenness that tore their world apart, Elewin lost his job due to gambling violations in the company he's working. It made their life with 6 children really difficult. Problems continued to flood. They had to leave their house, moved to different municipality, and all the burden were carried by Marly. All the expenses, bills and needs - Marly alone faced it all. Marly felt really alone, struggling to feed her family. Since he's husband have not find another job.
Years had passed, almost 10 years of moving from one house to another. House rents could be really expensive that actually ruined the children's childhood.
Something home wreckining happened when Marly found Dan, a single parent. He became a partner to Marly in her battles. Elewin went to Manila, found a job yet lost his family.
The kids were divided, 3 stayed to Marly and other 3 lived with Elewin.
Indeed, relationships are painful.
But just like what I've said, relationships are wonderful.
After a year and half of break up, Marly and Elewin found their ways back to each others arms.
They've hoped and love another that led them to an unexpected restoration.
Sure, the problems are not ending, facing deeper and greater problems, but this time they are facing it together.
The greatest miracle, they say, isn’t in the healing but in the love.
This is the love of a couple who made the choice to continue to love, even in the most crushing of circumstances.
This story is never perfect. Its full of flaws and pain but wonders are still and will always be present in relationships.
From beginning to end, nothing is more important than relationships. In the beginning, God created you for relationships. He made you to relate to him and to others. Miss out on relationships, and you’re missing the core reason for which God put you on this planet. And in the end, nothing is more important, because nothing will last longer than relationships.
A life without relationships may well be a simpler life, but it is also an empty life.
The path to the greatest life possible and the greatest joy possible is found in the priority: Place the highest value on relationships.
Thank you for reading the story of my life. I hope you've learned something from this.
