Diary of Jackson Rees: Bithday Wish Into Mission

Jackson's 12th Birthday

You know how typical you are supposed to come up with a list of guests to celebrate your birthday with and that your parents actually thinks that it would make you happy as a kid?

Well, the problem is, it's not easy for me to think of ways to decline to this birthday party since they've been super excited about actually seeing me with my friends, though I highly doubt if I really consider them as my friends because there's only a certain person whom I think of highly and awesome and that's none other than, myself.

Yes, it is I, Jackson Rees the only perfect person existing.

As I stand in front of my birthday cake, surrounded by my family and some lowly individuals from my school the only thing that's running on my mind is, will this party end before the 6:00 pm or I'll have to be stuck here with these freaks?

"Jackson, before you blow the candle, make a wish first" and that's Teresa, my mom.

So for this years wish, since I'm already pretty much one of the best people around the globe, my wish to myself is to be more considerate to people and help them improve. Of course it would be better if I'll be able to make them live, think and enjoy life the way I do.

But the thing I've found out is that some people don't really liked getting help and appreciate your efforts of helping.

One morning, I saw Teresa eating as much as a wrestler would do. As my kind gesture of helping her, I reminder her about her diet. "I think you should be working out instead of eating too much, what's the point of downloading your 60 days challenge to have a body fit if you're just not going to follow it."

One thing that I've noticed since I started y mission of helping others is that people in my family are doing a very very lousy job on doing things that they'd actually declared of doing. More talk but less work.

Teresa said that she'll start her morning workouts and join a gym session today but guess what she just stayed the whole day scrolling social media and watching netflix series.

And Robert, my dad said that he was going to stop drinking alcohol and take care of himself but I just caught him sneaking his beer in the car. Tskk

Even my little brother Ricky couldn't stick with his promise that he won't ruin or destroy his toys anymore.

This morning Ricky declared that he's a big boy already and he's not going to be childish and disassemble his robots for good. Then he organized his toys according to its size that made my parents really happy.

Silly that my family got fooled by that tricky Ricky, his declaration was all just for show to gain trust from Teresa and Robert. Guess what, he just got a new toy and tossed all his old tools in the trash bin.

The only person in my family who's not loud about changing or improving oneself is Lily. She's my elder sister but she's a total loser. And maybe if she has a list that she'd like to improve from I bet it would take a mile and half long list.

So the great Jackson Rees, which is I, decided to make a program to help Lily become a better version of herself. I called it Oplan Lily for the Better. But before I could proceed to my mssion, Lily warned me not say a single thing but "my life, my rules".

Anyway, I started thinking if I should just keep these thoughts to myself and just improve my self from being the best to the best-est. Helping others is sure a lot of work, and I honestly made no progress.

Plus, after I reminded Teresa about her goal of attaining a physically fit body for the thousandth time, but she made an awakening point to my mission. She said, "Everyone can't be perfect like you Jackson." And from I've seen so far, I think she's right and I should stop sticking my nose other's business.
