Recently, we went to a specialist to check my right shoulder. Every time that I am applying too much force on this side, there will a sudden slip inside that causes extreme pain. Usually, it takes about several minutes to bring it back to the correct/old position.
I got this from an accident 1 and a half years ago. I was helping my group mates in decorating our presentation. I thought putting some lights will make it more attractive. I tried to connect the plug to the ceiling but unfortunately, I got electrocuted and fell off the ground. My right shoulder was the first part of my body that landed on the floor. We don't seek an immediate help to the doctor that time because we thought the pain will just go away after resting. It is true that the pain has gone but a little months later, while were doing a vigorous activity, my right shoulder have dislocated. It keeps on happening so I told my father to consult a doctor.
The doctor warns me to avoid activities that force my arms and shoulder. He suggests taking an MRI scan to see if there's damage to my bones. Temporarily, I should work on strengthening my muscle at the shoulders to stabilize it.
I thought that's the only problem. While the doctor is further examining me, he noticed that there something odd to my posture. He immediately checked it and he concluded that I have scoliosis. He said that I should take an x-ray.
The findings show that I have 10 degrees of Dorsal Scoliosis which means the curvature of my spine occurred between the bottom of the neck and top of my pelvis. Levoscoliosis is where the spine turns and twists to the left which makes a C-shape. The definite cause of scoliosis is still unknown. Maybe it's from genetics or other factors.
My doctor suggests that I should attend 6 sessions of physical therapy, 2 times a week for which costs me PHP 600 or 12 USD for every session.
Now, I am on the 2nd session of my physical therapy. So far, so good. My therapist has introduced different exercises that I can also try at home. I will keep you updated about the progress :)
