Toxic Traits of FB Stans

According to Statista, almost 96 percent of the Philippine users who can access internet have a priveledge to use Facebook, which is certainly true. Personally, I'm employing Facebook to share never ending memes, but unfortunately, there has sort of oblivious things that I must not share.

When I was out of control lying on my bed, or my mind is dead and can't process, I usually prefer to watch random videos on Facebook especially the movie reviews to boost up my weak cells which I'm using as an alternative app for Tik Tok and YouTube. On the other hand, I'm only using Facebook to gather the latest BLACKPINK updates since I repeatedly told on my previous articles that I'm an avid fan of them, and I'm only using it if I want to aspire to make a post on noise.

Probably, Facebook is like a canvas where you can employ your craft like building your abstract. This could be arranged, messy, dirty, clean, blank, or either messy. But most of the time, their accounts seem to be not tidy and cheap since they are only sharing non-sense memes.

Since I already told the things that I want to imply, let's get now to the point where I want to express by means of writing. Buckle your seat belts and let's expand the toxicity that I encountered in my news feed.

1) Normalizing Backstab

“Huy alam mo ba si ganito, ang panget ng tiktok niya!”

I simultaneously saw this post on Facebook wherein they are romanticizing the audacity of making gossips through their group chat, and they are ironically angry if they eventually became angry when they are in their unconscious victim's shoes.

Please pardon me since I will share a backstab that I experienced on my best friend will I will be her friend. Actually, I didn't get hurt when she said that, since I would not ever blame myself why I implied that action.

I have a best friend that I'm still treating her a friend where I'm making a gossip through my seatmate which is also my BFF. Let's say that her pen name for this article is known as Williams. Personally, I don't like how she acts, so I eagerly backstab her. I just shared the truth, but I didn't say that I don't want to be her friend. In fact, we are too close, but we eventually separated due to the pandemic, and we moved to the province.

Then later on, I saw Williams shared a meme and my classmate which I told my secret about her leaves a compliment with a comment, “Huy, alam mo ba si King (not my true name), nakakainis🙄”

Obviously, I innocently leaved a compliment in a frank way and I just passed it out. It's not yet the first time that I experienced it in personal since it's been already multiple times, but I just disregard it. Honestly, I just shared my experience, and I'm certainly sure that you already encountered those indefinite posts. The great blasphemers.

2) BTS BIOT Memes

According to @Codename_Chikakiku, this issue started when the two candidates of graduating students captured wearing a toga pic with a caption on the whiteboard “BTS Biot”. This toxicity evenly reached to South Korea and almost all of my Facebook friends are rallying about this issue, but I'm only quiet while eating my popcorn.

A lot of toxic fans are retarded about this issue, and they are taking this discrimination to the next level. I'm glad that their real fans are only quite about this, since they already knew that these facts are true. On the other hand, social climber Facebook users are only abusing this issue to gain likes and attention, so they will be satisfied. In addition, those keyboard warriors are absolutely brainless.

Last Sunday, we went to my aunt's house to celebrate his son's birthday and my cousins are talking about BTS issue. Personally, they knew about how I treat my faves, but we know that I didn't stan BTS. My sibling which is a mood maker of the group, tackles about their sexuality by looking at their kissing scenes. Of course, I'm only silently laughing at the fact that BTS is not the worst gay in K-POP. Kissing scenes from other groups left the group lols.

On the other hand, they also expand the issues about the social climber's careless unboxing on the packaging of the BTS Limited MCDO meal, and they eventually asked my opinion about that. Primarily, I said that they are just only using BTS for clout, and the band and the fast food company itself will gradually earn more money since they have a lot of bashers and fans.

It's just like the social climber are only paying their expenses for their popularity and not to break the band, the fast food company, and the artist's reputation. Likewise, they are only helping BTS to be more successful and to accumulate more money because of what they did. In short, it depicts that BTS is clearly influencltial here in the Philippines.

3) One Issue, Your Whole Identity Get Judged

This kind of Facebook community are undoubtedly a greedy person on reacts and this method can kill someone's career. Let's take a deep breath and let's take a closer look once again on the issues that I/we encountered on Facebook.

Did you still remember how does Buknoy break his promising career by just spitting disrespectful words toward the tricycle driver? How about Tekla's issue before that his live in partner stated that she was get harassed by his own partner which we became one-sided for a while?

Maybe their way of bashing is to give them a lesson, but I hope it would not exceed on another level. Unfortunately, there have still innocent people secondary got this hate like his/her friend or either his/her loved ones. Those post could turn into a nightmare, and we might not notice that one time, we just heard that they just committed suicide due to the bullying that they experienced.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Since you already reached the end of my article, here are my aims that you should answer on yourself after you read this.

  • How many only users using Facebook in the Philippines?

  • How did I'm using my Facebook?

  • What are the three types of toxic posts that I encountered so far?
