How To Move On From Failures In A Mansonian Way?
In life, we experience failures. All of us, instead. In my previous article, I confessed that I became anxious for a simple reason. The flow of my thoughts is not considered normal anymore as I'm crying suddenly in bed like insane. I lost my will to continue! I lost the opportunity that most of you writing on that platform can do, but I could not forever get it anymore! You won't explain how my thoughts were crumbled as I feel undervalued and I am living in a world full of regrets. But not anymore.
Three days ago, a power outage happened, and I couldn't think of what to do without using my phone. As stated here, I went to my bedroom to declutter the things I won't use anymore. To kill my boredom, I decided to read some books. I'm thankful that someone saved me from persistent sadness, which only a self-help book can aid. If you are curious, it's none other than this book.
While reading, there was a quote that sparked my interest. Every time I see a relatable quote, I always write it in my notepad and stick it to the corresponding page where it was written. I believe that doing it will assist me in making me feel better for instances in which I sense depression. One of the takeaways that I will share with you is the "Do Something Principle."
Action
If you are demotivated from experiencing failure like in the exam or other things, take action. Start a movement, and take the next step from your losses. Like what I experienced, I failed in the most significant curation program. Honestly, I feel jealous since they get the opportunity I want. I remember crying when I realized why I was not getting any vast votes from that program mentioned in my introduction post. Whenever they share their achievements, it fills my insecurities, which becomes a reason to delete my Discord. However, I realized I should begin my next move even if I fell. Acceptance is not easy, but I can do it little by little.
Inspiration
When you finally begin your action, it's time to grab some inspiration. Honestly, I can't get the exact inspiration I need to start growing my viewers. I feel like I am still doing something. But in my studies, my inspiration to graduate, aside from my parent's expectations, is my tuition. If I failed in one of my subjects, I would be an irregular student. Anyway, I promise I won't retake any exams or subjects, so it is my inspiration to do something.
Motivation
If inspiration is a pull factor to do something, then motivation is a pull factor. For instance, I want to lose weight in my unfit clothes. My inspiration to lose weight in the statement is to fit all my unsuitable clothes. Meanwhile, my motivation to make my unfit clothes fit is to lose weight. Quite tricky but an easy-to-understand concept.
Repeat
As Mark Manson states, "If we follow the "do something principle," failure feels unimportant. And in my improvement, I can defend that he is right.
