Why are these kids giving up easily on their online and modular classes? Over the year I observed a drastic increase of suicide in my country.
The new normal caused by this pandemic has become a great hindrance to one's education. As an individual who is determined to reach your dreams, would you ever give up just like that?
The modular learning has been made simple for some but many were complaining because they are unable to understand and some were given short deadlines for their online classes.
Kids nowadays, no offense to some students here, but some really wanted everything spoon fed to them. Some kids were too ambitious but want to reach it in an instant. They don't accept risks nor challenges.
I would say, the present is too different from the past. I know it's difficult because I've been in such situation where life is hard.
I saw a video of a lady crying and begging on social media to appeal to their teachers of the simultaneous activities assigned to them. I read a news about a fifteen year old who committed suicide because his teacher did not accept his attendance for logging in late due to poor Internet connection. After some weeks here's another case.
It's kind of irritating that these kids take away their lives simply because of this new way of learning. Though I fully understand how our differences affect us but these kids are just so weak to take challenges. Again I'm so sorry to say this but committing suicide is just not worth it! Suicide is not the answer to your homework. Suicide is not the fastest way to get away with your personal troubles!
The old times, we learn without gadgets. We were able to study by borrowing books and looking for whatever references we can get. When time is over and it's time for deadline yet we still don't find the right answer, then so be it.
I may say I know a lot of things but never had the chance to improve because of lack of support. What I did to continue what I love to do is to work on it without complains. We lack money to buy a computer, or pay for Internet cafe. We don't have the funds to buy the best materials for studying, but determination made me pass through all these hardships as a student.
To the students out there:
Do not let pressure and pride take over your minds. There's a solution to every problem. Motivate yourselves to do something better and be able to face all your challenges without ruining your lives.
To the teachers:
Understand the life status of your students. Not all can comply to your requirements. Give them better options. Not all students can afford gadgets. Not all students have proper Internet connection. Do not pressure or threaten them with their grades.
Dear parents,
Talk to your children. Give yourselves spare time for a conversation with them. All they need is attention and support from you.
I also watched it and the reason of his suicidal is because the teacher didnt accept his late module. Hays
