This famous Filipino snack is actually a pinch of glutinous rice flour cooked with coconut milk and brown sugar locally know as "kalamay" stored in a small coconut like shell. The small coconut like shell is from a fruit bearing palm tree named "pitogo".
It is called “Sundot Kulangot” because a finger is used if you don’t have a stick, a popsicle stick or a tiny spoon to take the candy out. It is as if you are nose picking.
Whoever named this famous pasalubong product from Baguio city Philippines has an odd sense of humor.
