MORÓN Any one knows about it? Its not a bad word. Morón is a smoother variety of "Suman" (rice cake often wrapped in banana or coconut leaves) it is made of ground combined glutinous and ordinary rice cooked in coconut milk with sugar and butter. Then wrapped in banana leaves and cooked in a big cauldron. This also comes with a chocolate and combined original and chocolate flavor that become more famous than the original flavor. You can buy this product in eastern visayas region of the Philippines, specially in Tacloban. Have you tried one? Share your thoughts about it in the comment section. Thanks.

BINAGOL (A native Filipino sweet treat in a coconut shell) BINAGOL (A native Filipino Sweet Treat in a Coconut Shell) Any idea about BINAGOL? It is a native delicacy in Eastern Visayas region in the Philippines, it is considered as one of the legendary food in the region wich is famous for locals and foreign tourist. It is made from corms of pure "Talyan" (giant swamp Taro). It can have a length of 2 feet and weight upto 2kg. The plant can grow bigger than human unlike its cousin "Gabi" (taro). Corms is mixed with coconut milk, and "Malagkit" (glutinous rice powder). It is also extended with nuts, chocolate, margarine, vanilla, cheese and eggs. Its distinct layers makes it very unique to anyone. The bottom layer, which is placed first inside, consists of the caramelized filling. The top one consists of the main taro mixture. It is packed in a coconut shell or "Bagol" (a Waray term for the shell itself) and covered on top with dried banana leaves to prevent it from spilling. The product is then wrapped up with straw strips or any strings for additional protection and to enhance the aroma. After packaging, it is heated for about 8 hours in a large cauldron until cooked and it is ready to eat. Best eaten together with hot chocolate or coffee. Like some? Don't forget to taste it when you visit the Eastern Visayas Region of the Philippines.

Pick Booger Snack Would you like to try it?😬😬😬 This famous Filipino snack is actually a pinch of glutinous rice flour cooked with coconut milk and brown sugar locally know as "kalamay" stored in a small coconut like shell. The small coconut like shell is from a fruit bearing palm tree named "pitogo". It is called “Sundot Kulangot” because a finger is used if you don’t have a stick, a popsicle stick or a tiny spoon  to take the candy out. It is as if you are nose picking.  Whoever named this famous pasalubong product from Baguio city Philippines has an odd sense of humor.

The Cough Inducing Snack (Pampaubo) Mik-Mik a famous Filipino snack originally made of sweetened milk powder in a plastic sachet sip using plastic straw. This snack started in Divisoria Manila Philippines by Robert Sy, the founder of Jocker’s Food Industry. This snack became famous in the 90's. It also comes in two other flavor which is powder chocolate and ube. Most kids of the 90’s will always remember this addictive milk powder in a sachet with a matching straw. Now it is still in the market but not as popular as it is in 90's. Young adults and professionals also said that their childhood won’t be complete without Mik-Mik. The cough or choke is the sensation that completes the MikMik Experience. You will never know why it's known as cough inducing until you tried it.. Have you tried it? Bocarillo or Bukayo?? This two sweet delicacies which is made from young coconut stips is part of well known (PASALUBONG) treats widely known in the Philippines. Bocarillo ( coconut brittle) is a counterpart of Bukayo (coconut candy). Bukayo a very sticky and sweet made by young coconut strips and usually brown in color. It is usually round but sometimes flat circular shape. The city of Lingayen in Pangasinan is believed where the dry and chewy flat circular shaped bukayo originated. The rounded sticky version of bukayo is said that it originated in visayas area. Bocarillo in the other hand is dry and crumbly usually flat circular shaped. It's sometimes flavored with ripe jackfruit and usually in White color but sometimes comes in light pink, orange and yellow. Bocarillo is well known in central and eastern visayas provinces like Cebu and Leyte. Which one is your favorite?

What just happened since covid-19 pandemic started. If I'm not mistaken, covid-19 pandemic started mid of first quarter of this year, and situation then started to get bad. As lockdown are imposed to avoid virus transmission, stablishments started to close and stop their operation,local and internation travel restrictions are imposed, and some of us started to lose Jobs. Sad to say,I personally experienced all of those, and until now, still struggling to survive, difficulty in finding new job etc. Even though, I still consider myself lucky for what opportunity i got in online jobs. Who among you are affected with this pandemic? How it affects your daily life?
