Carbs Might Be My Soulmate

Article #34 April 4, 2022

This is a continuation of my previous article on food-related topics. I noticed a Tiktok video that said we should spend our money on other things rather than on food, but we shouldn't limit ourselves to food because it is the source of our energy. Foods provide me with a great deal of satisfaction. I used to eat alone because I didn't have many friends back then when I was in Manila and we occasionally had different schedules. I always have it at Jollibee or Mcdo since those are the only fast food restaurants that satisfy me. But when I am with my only friend , though, I always suggest going to a fast food restaurant to test new foods.

10 Food Related Questions

  • How often do you eat fruit?

I'm not a huge lover of fruits. Certain fruits appeal to me, while others do not. I'm also a slacker when it comes to eating, especially when you have to peel them off before eating. But if it's a banana, I eat a lot of them, and bananas are not really in our house because they run out so quickly. Hahaha.

Flexing my sponsors, Thank you po.

  • What food do you hate?

I despise exotic foods. I'm not sure why, but I'm terrified by their look. Have you ever watched Solenn eat a tarantula on Survivor Philippines? I'm not sure whether she ate tarantula previously, but they were moving as in alive when you were going to eat. Yay! I'm not against individuals who eat exotic stuff, but whatever you do to make me eat it, I'm not going to eat it. Just thinking about it causes me to err.

  • Have you ever ordered food in a foreign language?

No, I have not yet since I haven't visited another country. When I worked at WMall near MOA, all of our customers were Chinese. When they order, they just point to the item on the menu that they wish to get; the menu has also been translated into Chinese. And when it comes time to inform them the entire amount of their orders, we simply hand them the calculator with the sum on it.

  • What was the last meal you cooked?

I'm currently preparing fried chicken and rice for our meal. My nephew suggested that my sister buy fried chicken, but because we are on a limited budget, she bought raw chicken at the market in the morning and I cooked it when she got home. I just used breading mix with a little salt and pepper and was ready to fry. It's scrumptious!

  • Have you ever had breakfast in bed?

Yes, all the time, because I have my own study table in my room. Actually, my room is quite little, with only my bedroom and a limited amount of space for my other belongings. So when I eat, I'll just set up my table in my bedroom and eat while watching YouTube vlogs.

  • How much can you eat at an all-you-can-eat buffet?

If you had told me ahead of time that we were going to dine at an all-you-can-eat buffet, I'm sure I could eat more and more. My method is to avoid eating anything heavy in the tummy and instead to consume light yet delightful foods. Also, don't drink too much water or other beverages there.

  • What is the most expensive meal you have ever eaten?

When I ate at Alimall Cubao's Korean Restaurant. My cousins, not I, have spent a lot of money. He treated us and our two other cousins together. We eat unli samgyeopsal for 10 USD or 499 PHP per person, not including the other drinks we purchased. We ordered soju, which was exorbitantly priced! Yes, it is the most expensive dish I've ever eaten in my life. Looking for a lot more. Haha.

  • What dessert do you love to eat?

I don't typically have a favorite dessert because we don't eat it at home, but I might enjoy it if it was fruit salad or ice cream. I adore ice cream, especially vanilla or matcha flavors.

  • Do you like to drink hot drinks?

Of course, yes. I enjoy coffee, especially when it is hot. I'm not a big fan of iced coffee. For me, nothing beats the fragrance of freshly brewed coffee. Every day, I consume three cups of coffee. Parang meal lang na 3 times a day noh? Haha.

  • If you could only eat one thing for a year, what would it be?

It's difficult to make a choice. But lemme think a little bit.  Chopsuey is my first choice. As I mentioned earlier, my favorite dish is chopsuey, which I could eat for a year. If you think magsasawa ako?  No, I would absolutely prepare them differently. When it came to chopsuey, there were several recipes to choose from.

The type of fruit I love to eat; I'd go with coconut. That fruits tastes so good for me. It's sweetness is so natural. I remember days I used to pluck it from a neighboring house without their consent
