Homemade Spaghetti

I know a lot of you have loved spaghetti since you were a child. I still remember the days when spaghetti was always a required dish whenever there are birthday celebrations, especially if it's a child celebrating it. But it's not just limited to birthdays. Whatever the occasion is, kids will surely ask if there's spaghetti on the table.

I have already tried different kinds of spaghetti my whole life. Beef, pork, chicken, tuna or even eggplant. I have tried them all. But one thing is for sure though. The best spaghetti is the one that was cooked at home, especially by your Mom.

I have tried eating outside, resto's or fast -foods, but still nothing compares to a homemade spaghetti and I really don't know why.

Could it be that the serving quantity of the one being served on fast-foods ain't enough. Could it be that the you have grown accustomed to the taste of the tomato sauce that came out fresh from the can or tetra pack.

It really does'nt make sense to me sometimes that I really need to compare the ingredients of the fastfood spaghetti to the one at home. I mean, they are the same, right?

But still, I'm longing for the taste of the sauce and pasta mixed and cooked at home. And mind you, I still would love it even if it does'nt have grates cheese on top.

But now that I already lost Mom, cooking spaghetti has become a habit. Not in a month that I would not cook it. Maybe once or twice a month. And guess what, I would really appreciate it if my neighbors give me freshly cooked spaghetti from their homes. Better than those bought on resto's.

Yes, I also eat other pasta dishes. But spaghetti for me is truly more satisfying. I could not actually remember a time where I refused to eat it, if someone offered me.

It's more than a tradition. It's somehow a food for my soul.

Bon appetit!
