My Crypto Earnings (February)
Time is quickly flying by this year and we have already reached the end of February. Which means that it is once again my favorite time of the month. The time that I calculate all of my crypto earnings that I made during the month. If you are new, this is a monthly ongoing series that I write where I document my progress towards hopefully reaching financial freedom. I don't do it as a way to show off or boast, but in order see my own progress that I am making, which helps to keep me motivated. I also share it on here in hopes that it will help motivate the people who read this to begin their own journey towards financial freedom. I believe that cryptocurrency is going to cause one of the largest transfers of wealth the world has ever seen, and those of us who are working hard to maximize our holdings now, will be rewarded in the future.
I like to dream big, and at the beginning of the year I set a personal goal to earn $4,000 per month with my crypto earnings. Admittedly I am still very far away from reaching that goal, but at the same time, not that far away as well. With that said, naturally I didn't reach that goal during the month of February, when valued in terms of US dollars. But, the important thing to remember is that every month the actual crypto that I have been earning has been increasing when using crypto as the unit of value. But let's go back to valuing it in-terms of the US dollar. This has been a wild rollercoaster type month for not only the crypto markets, but for the world. Bitcoin has been incredibly volatile and that has affected my lending bottom line greatly. As usual, the three largest methods for earning crypto were Crypto blogging, lending, and staking. Although, I was lucky enough to land a freelance gig once again this month.
So without further delay, let's go over my earnings for the month of February.
Blogging
Publish0x
My earnings on Publish0x are like a steady horse that I can always depend on. When the end of the month arrives, my earnings here are almost always in the $30-40 range, and as you can see in the picture above, that is exactly where I ended up this month as well. I'm fortunate that many of my article often land on the front-page of Publish0x and that helps my visibility. It also helps that my follower count continues to grow.
I'm very happy to say that I finally reached over 5,000 followers on Publish0x and I'm so thankful to each and every person that reads my articles and also puts up with my bullish view on both bitcoin and crypto in general. I hope to keep the momentum rolling and reach 6,000 in the not so distant future. Out of all the sites that I use, I find publish0x to be the best mix of being easy to use, having a good community and also having decent rewards.
Publish0x Total = $33.10
Read.cash
My other steady earner is always Read.cash. I'm always a little surprised that my articles do well there considering that I mostly talk about bitcoin, and it being bitcoin cash type of environment. But the comments on my articles are usually constructive and good. Which has made me respect the community over there more. As always, I appreciate the fact that you can instantly withdraw your rewards at anytime.
Read.cash Total = $69.89
Hive/LeoFinance
Hive and LeoFinance continue to be the blogging site that I need to improve on. My work there is always hit or miss. When they hit, my earnings can be extraordinary and go up to some pretty large numbers. On the flip side, sometimes they can be non-existent. Unfortunately, this month I had a few more misses than normal. But I'm excited to try to improve and correct that in the future.
Hive = $67.33 LeoFinance = $9.78.
Total = $77.11
Freelance
= $200
I was lucky enough to be contacted again by the same large crypto company in the space that I did a freelance article for last month. The experience was great, and hopefully will build into something bigger in the future. As I said last month, my work was discovered here on publish0x, and so you never know who might be reading your articles. So always put great effort and care into your posts.
Substack
= $0.00
As always, I post my articles on Substack for free and don't expect to have any earnings there. I'm excited to see that the subscriber numbers are continuing to grow. Long into the future, this actually could have the largest potential for me, so I will continue to try to grow my base here.
Blogging Total = $380.10
Lending & Staking
Celsius
Bitcoin =0.001156 BTC = $43.92
As always, I have had a good experience with Celsius. Ever since they initiated the new bitcoin tiers I keep my bitcoin held here to just under 0.25 BTC, and withdraw my rewards each week to cold storage. Withdrawals are free, which is a big bonus in my opinion. With that said, earning 6.20% on 0.25 BTC is still a great opportunity in my opinion.
Ledn
Bitcoin =0.00222584 BTC = $84.58
Just like with Celsius, ever since Ledn initiated their newest lending tiers, I have kept 0.49 BTC on their service. Earning 6.25% on 0.49 BTC is a good opportunity. Every few months when the rewards are about to push me over the limit for this tier, I withdraw to cold storage. Unfortunately I do have to pay for the withdrawal transaction fee, but BTC transaction fees are currently pretty cheap, so that isn't that big of an issue.
NEXO
Bitcoin =0.00051692 BTC = $19.64
Ethereum = 0.00123696 ETH = $3.21
USDC = $7.58 USDC
I have no complaints about Nexo, and have actually grown to like it the longer that I have used it. I don't lock my funds up here to earn higher rates, but instead just earn the base 4% for crypto, and 8% for stable coins. The reason why, is that my crypto's main purpose here isn't earning an interest, but being emergency collateral for loans that I have taken out there. Having the coins earn an interest at the same time, is just bonus as far as I'm concerned.
NEXO Total = $30.43
FTX
Bitcoin = 0.00721 BTC = $273.98
Ethereum = 0.0031 ETH = $8.06
This is an exchange that I have grown to like quite a bit. As far as earning crypto on the service, you can earn 8% on your first $10,000 worth of crypto on the exchange. And then 5% on anything after that. That is a better rate than you will find on many of the lending services out there. Then Non Ethereum/stable coin withdrawals are free as well.
FTX Total = $282.04
Kraken
Ethereum =0.0138283 ETH = $35.95
Polkadot =0.71137584 DOT = $12.14
On Kraken I stake both ethereum 2.0 and also Polkadot. While there are still fees taken out of your earnings, they are not as bad as you would find in other places. I'm happy with the experience that I have had here.
Kraken Total = $48.09
Staking and Lending Combined Total = $489.06
February Crypto Earnings Total = $869.16
And that is my total for the month of February. I'm nearly 22% of the way towards reaching my goal. All it would take is for the bitcoin and crypto markets to recover towards it previous highs and surpass them, and then also have my blogging channels continue to grow as well. It's very possible in my opinion. But even if I don't reach that initial goal, I'm still very happen with the progress that I have made. When I initially began my investing journey. The money I was earning each month in crypto was less than $5.00. That is a lot of progress in just a few years, and just imagine what this might look like after a few more years have passed. So what I'm try to say is, that if I can do it, definitely you can as well. Don't give up, go out and start your journey towards financial freedom today!
How about you? What have been your best ways of earning crypto?
As always, thank you for reading!
Quite good mate. I did move some of my BTC from Blockfi, to Celsius, I would rather have 3.3% than 1%, but now I am 0.1 over the 0.25 BTC there getting the max 6.2%. What can you tell me about Nexo? Are they alright? I start now to check the accounts and do my numbers for February, seems they are a bit lower than usual.
