When you help others to become successful.
When people can't do without you; when they can't afford to lose you for hours, days or a lifetime.
When you become nothing but your true-self, not a carbon-copy.
When discover and fulfill purpose and fulfill it.

That is being successful. Although people misunderstand the word, they take it to be wealthy, well if you are wealthy and you have not touched live positively, then to me you are not successful
