The symptoms of kidney disease sometimes you do not immediately feel. But it is important that you know so that you can be proactive and remedial.

What are kidney stones?

Kidney stones are kidney disease that causes difficulty and pain in urination. It is the presence of a “kidney within the kidney” that grows and can occupy your kidney. It is made of hard collections of minerals and salts consisting of calcium or uric acid. It forms inside the kidney and can travel to other parts of the urinary tract.

If left untreated, kidney stones can cause kidney complications and may need surgery to cure them.

That is why it is important to know the symptoms of kidney disease so that it does not get worse and can be treated immediately.

Symptoms of kidney stones

  • Excessive rubbing on the side and back, as well as on the lower ribs.

  • Pain extending to the lower abdomen and groin.

  • Difficulty and pain in urination.

  • Convulsive pain and getting worse.

  • Pink, red or brown color in urine.

  • Cloudy o foul-smelling in the urine.

  • Vomiting and nausea.

  • Frequent urination.

  • Urination unlike usual.

  • Fever and tremors.

  • Urination a little.

The pain caused by kidney stones is variable. It can move to different locations in your urinary tract.

If you experience symptoms of kidney disease, see a doctor immediately, especially if you feel the following symptoms:

  • It hurts so much to not be able to sit or find a comfortable position first.

  • Pain is accompanied by vomiting or nausea.

  • Pain accompanied by fever and chills.

  • Urine blood.

  • Difficulty urinating.

The presence of kidney stones is caused by a variety of reasons but the chances of having it increase due to the following:

Risk factors of having kidney disease

The greatest risk factor for kidney stones is making less than 1 liter of urine per day. This is why kidney stones are common in premature infants who have kidney problems. However, kidney stones are most likely to occur in people between the ages of 20-50.

Different factors can increase your risk of developing a stone. In the United States, whites is more likely to have kidney stones than black people.

According to the national institute of diabetes and digestive and kidney diseases (NIDDK) Sex also plays a role. More men than women develop kidney stones.

A history of kidney stones can increase your risk. So does a family history of kidney stones.

Family o personal history

If one of your family members has had kidney stones, there is a good chance that you will have one. Likewise, if you have had kidney stones even though they have been removed or lost, they can still come back.

Dehydration

Drinking an insufficient amount of water a day increases your chances of experiencing kidney disease symptoms.

Especially those who live in hot areas and sweat excessively are more likely to have it.

Certain diets

Eating foods high in protein, salt, sodium, and sugar also increases the risk of developing kidney disease.

Because salty foods, for example, increase the amount of calcium in the kidneys which in turn forms kidney stones.

Being obese

Being obese or having a high BMI or mass index is also associated with having kidney stones. Weight gain is also one of the leading causes of kidney disease.

Digestive diseases at the surgery

Undergoing gastric bypass surgery and developing inflammatory bowel disease or chronic diarrhea causes a change in a person's digestive process. This in turn affects the body's absorption of calcium and water which increases the level of the stone-forming substance in the urine.

Other medical conditions

There are also medical conditions that can increase your chances of feeling kidney disease symptoms. Some of these are renal tubular acidosis, cystinuria, hyperparathyroidism, and other urinary tract infections.

Depending of what kind of symptoms the patient have. If the patient is suffering from difficulty urinating. We don't advise drinking lots of water. The tendency is, he/she will suffer pain because of distended bladder.
