"Christmas has finally arrived in Ilocos Sur!"
Since Christmas is just a few days away, lots of places are starting to light up their Christmas trees and putting up decorations to feel the presence of Christmas. And our province is not an exemption to that. From Christmas tree lightings to openings of Christmas villages, the province had always put extra efforts in showing tbeir love and passion for the said season.
Vigan City
Christmas feels started to illuminate in the City as the City Government of Vigan steered the lighting of the colorful 37-foot Christmas Tree last November 27, 2020 in front of the Vigan City Hall.
The lighting was led by the city's Vice Mayor Lourdes Baquiran.
The giant, glittering Christmas Tree sparks hope and positivity to every Bigueño and Ilocano especially in this time of pandemic.
Aside from the Christmas tree, the city also opened its Conservation Complex Season Park.
Located at Brgy. San Julian, the said park served as a Christmas Village in Vigan. Filled with lights and decorations, the park has been an attraction for the Bigueños in this time of the year.
Provincial Capitol
Governor Ryan Singson led the Christmas tree lighting ceremony held in front of the capitol in Vigan City on Tuesday, December 1. It was a festive event, with Christmas songs blaring on speakers as Singson, his family, and the rest of the crowd watched the tree light up.
The Christmas tree was decorated with poinsettias, reindeers, and of course, everyones favorite, Santa Claus.
Bantay
Bantay, a nearby municipality of Vigan, also opened its Christmas Village on December 2, 2020.
Filled with lights, the town's hall had opened up its Christmas Village to everyone that every kids and kids at heart would truly love.
Despite the pandemic that we are experiencing right now, we can't seem to forget how it feels to enjoy Christmas.
