This song has been a hit when it was released in 1973. But do you happen to know the story behind it? L. Russell Brown and Irwin Levine wrote the song after Brown read the story about it. It was about a soldier coming home from Andersonville Prison in the Civil War and he was going to Pennsylvania. Since the soldier was gone for three years, he wasn't sure if his girlfriend waited for him or looked for another guy, so he told her in a letter that if she still wants him, she just need to tie a yellow handkerchief around a big oak tree, but he was nervous to look that's why he asked his co-passengers to look at it for him. Save The Last Dance For Me - The Drifters
Save the Last Dance For Me is a story of dignity amid thwarted expectations. Lyric writer Doc Pomus wrote the song about his own wedding day, a beautiful occasion which was marred only by the fact that he could not dance with his bride, as convention demands. He had contracted polio as a child, and as a result, had to rely on crutches or a wheelchair for mobility. Doc write his lyric of quiet jealousy on the back of that wedding invite, remembering the reception, and how he felt as he was forced to sit and watch as his new wife danced with his brother Raoul. And while the suggestion that she might be tempted to be unfaithful was added to heighten the drama, he made sure that his lyric trod the fine line between possessive and pleading, gently reminding his lover to save her best affections for the wedding bed.
"Don't Stop Believin" by Journey
One of the greatest rock hits of all time was inspired by a conversation that Journey's keyboardist, Jonathan Cain, had with his father shortly after he moved to LA in hopes of landing a big break. He asked his dad whether he shoud just give up wherein his dad answer for him to not stop believing.

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had made some noise in the music industry when a feud arises between them. And since both of them are known singers, what else can we expect from them than too make shade in each of their songs. Although, they had already made amends, the ruckus that they created would always remain the music industry.
