Despite of early exit in the NBA playoff after 4-1 defeat to Miami Heat, the Milwaukee Bucks franchise player (Forward) Giannis Antetokounmpo bagged his 2nd straight MVP Award after dominating in votes than favored Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James.

To those social media climbers and bashing out the results, MVP award is given to the most valuable player in the regular season ONLY. Not in playoff. Get that clear, okay?!

With this achievement, Giannis is the 12th NBA player who received the back to back MVP award after Golden State Warriors' Guard Stephen Curry last 2014-2016 seasons.

As we remember, the 25 years old and 6' 11" "Greek Freak" was previously named last August 25, 2020 as the Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY) which make Giannis as the third player who won DPOY and MVP in a single season joining the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) Michael Jordan ('87-'88 season) and Hakeem Olajuwon ('93-'94).

In live broadcast announcement and interview, Giannis keep saying,

"Don't Call Me mvp. Dont Call Me Two Time MVP Until I'm A Champion."

Voting System

Members of global media panel of 100 sportswriters andP broadcasters, independent media members who are not affiliated with teams are the primary voters. In addition, the 101st ballot is from NBA Fan Vote Online which is equal to 1 point will be given to the crowd favourite player and added to final tally.

Note: selection were based on regular season games played through March 11, 2020.

Panels are required to vote in the 5 MVP finalists IN ORDER of who they believe the MVP this season.

Player will receives 10 pts for each First Place Vote, 7 pts on Second Place Vote, 5 pts on Third Place Vote, 3 pts on Fourth, and 1 pt for Fifth Place Vote. See detailed equation.

Formula: (1st Place Vote * 10) + (2nd Place Vote * 7) + (3rd Place Vote * 5) + (4th Place Vote * 3) + (5th Place Vote * 1)

Total votes are tallied, as general rule, the player who amassed highest scores will be the MVP. If the all panels vote for a one player in First Place Vote and gained the highest points, said player will be the "Unanimous MVP" as happened to 2016 Kia NBA MVP Stephen Curry (GSW) who bagged 1310 pts!

See below for the top 5 players garnered most points. For full and detailed list, check the NBA official website.
