Forrest Gump is a 1994 American film directed by Robert Zemeckis, based on Winston Groom's 1985 novel.

The film was a great commercial success, although the production company Paramount claimed the opposite, which is why Grum was not paid the agreed amount of fees. That is why Groom did not allow the sequel to the film based on his novel Gamp and Company to be shot.

The film was nominated for 13 Oscars and won six, including the Oscar for Best Actor (Tom Hanks), Best Director Robert Zemeckis and Best Picture. The film is significantly different from the novel.

20 years of Forest Gamp: 13 things you didn’t know about this movie!

The movie "Forest Gamp" has been around for two full decades. Fantastic acting by Tom Hanks and sentences like "Life is a box of chocolates" or "Run, Forest, run!" there are only a few that will be retold for a long time. They even paid homage to this film in one episode of The Simsons, and these are 13 facts you didn’t know about Forest.

Ton Hanks voluntarily added the sentence "My name is Forest Gamp. People call me Forest Gamp."

After the scene in which Hanks plays table tennis, he was told not to "drop the ball out of sight". After that, Hanks did not blink in any of the ping pong scenes.

But, in every photo that was taken during those scenes, Forest blinks.

In all the scenes in which he is chased, Forest wears a blue shirt.

Hailey J. Osment plays Forest's son, Forest Gump Jr. That same kid later starred in the movie "Sixth Sense" and uttered the cult sentence "I can see dead people"

Tom Hanks' brother, Jim Hanks, actually appears in most running scenes, including the one in which Forest runs for months.

When young Forest tries to find a place on the school bus, one of the girls who does not allow him to sit next to her is in fact Tom Hanks' daughter, Elizabeth Hanks. The first boy in the frame is Aleksandar Zemekis, the son of director Robert Zemeckis.

The role of Forest's friend Babe was originally offered to David Chapel, but he turned it down because he considered it racist and humiliating.

Sally Field, who plays Forest's mother, is only ten years older than Tom Hanks.

Winston Groome, the author of the book on the basis of which the film was made, said that he imagined John Goodman for the role of Forest.

In the scene in which Forest carries Baba on his back, Mikelti Williamson is tied with a wire to Hanks, because Hanks could not carry him.

In the book, Forest Gamp becomes an astronaut. It is interesting that Hanks and Gary Sinis, who plays Lieutenant Dan, play astronauts in the second realization of "Apollo 13".

The bench on which Forest is sitting while waiting for the bus was placed there only for the purpose of shooting the film. It was later transferred to the Savannah History Museum.
