White Van Stories

It's been trending in social media recently regarding white vans abducting people. It created fear towards people, and they're wondering why it's happening, and what do the authorities are doing. Requests of police visibility is what citizens wanted.

Eventually, the one who posted in social media admitted that the information she disseminated is fake news, and was apprehended by the authorities. Others who claimed the white van stories had also admitted fake news.

Does it mean, that such stories are fake news, don't really happen? Let me share two stories of claims being abducted by bad men using vans, regardless of the color.

This is a story of a doctor in our village, whose wife is also a doctor. He will go to Manila, woke up early, and waited for a ride heading Dagupan City. A van came, which pretends to be for hire, and he got in. He didn't know everything happened because he fell asleep (probably he was drugged).

When he became conscious, he's already bald. Of course, he already knew what's happening so he tried to escape when he opened the van and jumped. He was chased by the bad men, and gladly he escaped from them. He looked for the police station in the town he was brought in, which is at a western town in our province. Finally, his family found him, and the doctor has experienced trauma.

This is a different story of a student of my friend's husband. She was abducted, and it affected her mentally. Unsure if she had escaped but the family learned that she's already in Metro Manila, and was found in the police station. According to the source, she was found very dirty probably made to look dirty so people won't believe her.

She got depressed after that, and the students in school are warned and told to be careful when going out.

Such violence is already expected as there are some people who are very bad, and allowed their hearts to cool down. With so many misinformation in social media like the story of the white van, it doesn't mean it's not happening. There are stories of organ trafficking, and some politicians are even involved. As politicians are involved, it does mean that even some of those in authority are also involved. They can deny, but God sees everyone's deeds.
