Public Transport Stories

As a commuter, I have lots of experience either funny, tragic, or even annoying while riding the public transportation. It's not easy being a commuter because you are exposed to possible unfavorable situations. At times, it is also fun while traveling on a public transport.

I went to Sariaya, Quezon Province with my friends. We met up in Quezon City on the way to Quezon Province, and stayed there for 4 days. It is a challenge going home because I never traveled to Manila by myself. We used to have a van as family before, and we traveled with it during our trips to the capital city. My friends are from other provinces so we don't have the chance to travel together. Good thing, I got to ride a bus as a chance passenger on the way to Dau, Pampanga terminal.

It was a good trip, and I got to sleep while at the North Luzon Expressway. Unsure where we already are because I fell asleep, a young man talked to the fare collector with courage if they can stop and poop on the road side. The fare collector doesn't seem kind based on the way he talks. Still, the driver stopped on the side where the man can poop, at least he can be hidden from other vehicles. Honestly, I have no idea where he pooped because I didn't bother to look where he is. Knowing the expressway, it is an open area unless there's a portable toilet. But the man already insisted to poop outside the bus.

As expected, passengers are either laughing or talking about it. Of course, I don't mind. I know being on his shoes when your stomach becomes so upset that you need to just release that nasty smelling stuff.

When the man is done, he looks quite embarrassed as he got inside the bus and headed to his seat. I think he can't bear with it anymore because we're less than 10 minutes away to the terminal, which I realized when we reached the toll gate.

Me and my deaf student is waiting for the bus but I didn't know that buses don't stop on the station where we were. The ordinance has taken its effect that day, and I don't live in the city so I have no idea about that.

Bus drivers and their fare collectors are well aware that passengers are not aware about the stations. Cops in that area are incompetent too. We saw a bus coming so we tried to call him through a gesture but the fare collector signed that the station isn't there anymore. However, in few seconds he called us so me and my deaf student ran to get to the bus. As my foot stepped on the bus, the driver accelerated and my body hit the side of the bus and fell on the ground.

It must be my adrenaline but I got up quickly, and still got on the bus with my deaf student. I'm glad my student is there because there's a vehicle coming, which he stopped or else I got hit. Just nearby are cops just laughing on what happened joking at the driver. In fact, they should've reprimanded the driver for getting passengers in the wrong station.

The bus driver and the fare collector never talked to me, probably feeling embarrassed, but I expected them to ask me how I am, but never, nada! They even collected my fare without saying anything.

I had reported what happened to the bus owners, and they assured that they'll do something but I don't think they did.

I came to the province of Bataan, and going home already through an air conditioned bus. In am area, many passengers got in. We started to smell something bad. It smells like pooped. Of course, there's a commotion inside the bus and my head is getting achy because of the bad smell. Others are just laughing making everyone their subject of suspicion who might've pooped.

There's an old man who became their suspicion. He isn't aware he's being the suspected person who pooped. Maybe he's old enough, and his hearing might be defected already. When he reached his destination, it seems everyone's suspicion changed because the odor remained. So many suspicions until I reached my destination, and I never knew who's the source of the nasty odor. 😁
