Opinion: Not Invited, Not Told, Late Invites, What Should You Do? I’ve seen this photo on Facebook that says:

If you’re not invited, that means you Don’t go or you should not go. If you’re not told, that means Don’t ask or you should not ask. If late invites, that means decline or you should decline. You were never part of the plan. Suddenly, you become a convenience. I have time to reflect on myself. As a loner, who is okay to be alone, I find this funny, especially with the late invites. I’ve been a solo traveler. I am also a spontaneous person. So I have to be honest, I received many late invites from the past. The last-minute invite. The second option or person to be invited. Or a convenience of other people so that I can fill in the person who first backed out. I have to tell you, I wasn’t offended and never been offended. I took those last-minute invites as a surprise. And guess what? I was very happy I never declined. I got excited, by the way. I took advantage of the opportunities that came my way.  Who knows? It was an invitation for an all-expense paid trip? A real-life example was, I was on a boat covering an adventure excursion when suddenly, a friend of mine sent me a message on Facebook. She asked me if I was available for the whole week next week. I said yes, my schedule was very available at that time. Suddenly, she told me that we would fly to Manila to be featured at an ABS-CBN show. I just learned that she should be invited her friends who were actually closed to her but all her friends were minors at that time. I just met her through a client. She’s a singer and she’s been competing in several contests in the Philippines and now, internationally. Who would have thought that I would meet my long-time celebrity crush, Robi Domingo? Oh, that’s for another story. One week in Manila, we were treated like VIPs. We’ve seen some ABS-CBN shows. We stayed in a hotel, all-expense paid. Another real-life example, a friend of mine who invited me to Siargao. It wasn’t my first time. She got me a ticket for a cheap price so I grabbed the opportunity. One of her colleagues backed out so I took over her place. I don’t know the other colleagues but somehow, we got along. We are not really friends, nor friends on FB. Just this friend of mine who invited me to the last minute. I wasn’t offended. I was very happy she invited me. We split the bills of the tour, food, and the house rental. I decided to extend to Siargao. Several people in the comments are getting dramatic. Like if you can't have me on your happy days, don't expect me to be there during your sad days. Ammpff! I think all of us may have different experiences with late invites, not told, and not asked. So what do you think of the photo above? Let me have your thoughts.
