For today's lunch, I am back at Putien to try out another dish. Putien is located at the Garden Mall, a restaurant that specializes in Fujian cuisine.
It also won the 2016 Michelin One-Star Restaurant.
After looking at the menu, I order 2 portions of shredded Pork with Sesame Bun. It cost RM9.16 per portion, you need to order at least 2 if you order this.
The sesame bun used in this dish is actually called Gua Bao, an easier term to call it is lotus leaf bun. It originated from the coastal regions of Fujian province in China. It is said to have come from either the cities of Quanzhou or Fuzhou.
In Malaysia, the dish is popular among the Hokkien community, where it is known as kong bak pau or Pork Belly pau.
To enjoy this shredded Pork with Sesame Bun, you put the stir-fry pork into the lotus leaf bun and eat.
