Putien crispy oyster
I am back at Putien for today's lunch to try another dish. Putien is a restaurant specialising in Fujian cuisine, this branch is located at the Pavillion KL Mall. It also won the Michelin One-Star Restaurant award.
This time I order their crispy oyster, it cost RM36 with service tax included. Since this is just a main dish, I decided to order a bowl of rice as well.
This dish is an oyster omelette, it is a dish of Min Nan (Hokkien and Teochew) origin that is renowned for its savoury flavour in its native Minnan region and Chaoshan, along with Taiwan and many parts of Southeast Asia, such as the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia or Singapore, due to the influence of the Hokkien and Teochew diaspora. This kind of makes sense because many Hokkien are in Fujian.
The Oyster omelette is oyster fried with cornstarch, eggs and leeks. I am not the type who likes to eat leek and find myself surprisingly smooth when eating this dish.
