On May 29, 2012, His Royal Highness Prince Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah launched a commemorative coin in conjunction with the 100th Anniversary of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts at Ipoh, Perak.
The front of the coin displaying the logo of the Girl Guides and Scouts Association Worldwide is located at the center of the coin and the word "100th Anniversary" is at its top as marking the anniversary of the 100th anniversary of the Girl Guides and the 100th International Girl Scout movement, held over three years , from 2010 to 2012. At the bottom of the coin, the word "Girl Guides Association and Global Girl Scouts" has been mentioned.
On the back of the coin is displayed the logo of the Malaysian Girl Guides Association as describing Malaysia's involvement in this World Society. The word "Bank Negara Malaysia", the issuing authority of the commemorative coin, is displayed on the top of the coin, while the face value of the coin is on the bottom.
The commemorative coins are minted and packed by Bank Negara Malaysia and sold on May 30, 2012 at Bank Negara Malaysia (BNMLINK) headquarters, Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery, and Bank Negara Malaysia's regional and branch offices in Penang, Johor Bahru , Kuala Terengganu, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.
