On September 30, 2010, His Majesty the King of Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Mahmud Al-Muktafi Billah Shah launched a commemorative coin in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of the Bunga Raya declaration as the National Flower at the Perbadanan Complex Malaysian Handicraft, Kuala Lumpur.
The front of the coin displays the Bunga Raya image as a National Flower displayed on the center of the commemorative coin, while the word "50 Years" is displayed on the top of the coin and the year "1960 - 2010" is shown under the Bunga Raya image. The word "National Flower Fair" is displayed on the bottom of the coin.
The back of the coin displays a map of Malaysia on the back of the Malaysian flag displayed on the center of the coin. The word "Bank Negara Malaysia" is displayed at the top of the coin, while the face value of the coin is displayed under the words "Bank Negara Malaysia". "Jabatan Warisan Negara" translates to the "National Heritage Department" as the department responsible for the celebration of the declaration anniversary is displayed on the bottom of the commemorative coin.
The commemorative coins are minted and packed by Bank Negara Malaysia and sold on 1 October 2010 at Bank Negara Malaysia's headquarters (BNMLINK), and its branches are in Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuching.
