The 11th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit commemorative coin has been launched by Bank Negara Malaysia on 30 August 2005. Three commemorative coins were issued in conjunction with the 11th ASEAN conference held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 12- 14 December 2005; Gold RM100 coins (proof), Silver RM10 Coins (proof), and Copper-Nickel coin (coin card). The three coins are legal tender in Malaysia.
All these commemorative coins have the same design.
The back of the coin displays the face value, location, and date of the conference and carving of the KLCC building as Kuala Lumpur's landmark is placed in the center of the coin. The upper part of the coin is listed as "SIDANG KEMUNCAK ASEAN KE-11" and the word "BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA" is shown on the bottom of the coin.
This coin has the same front design as the official ASEAN logo in the middle of the coin and the word "Malaysia" and the year 2005 "under the logo as a reminder of the 11th host of the meeting. Around the coin contains the words "11th ASEAN SUMMIT" and "ONE VISION. ONE IDENTITY.ONE COMMUNITY" which is the theme of this conference.
The commemorative coins are minted and distributed by The Royal Mint of Malaysia.
