On April 25, 2002, Bank Negara Malaysia issued three types of commemorative coins in conjunction with the Installation of Yang di-Pertuan Agong XII, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin ibni Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail. The commemorative coin of the Agong XII is issued in three types; Coin Remittance 1 cupro-nickel Ringgit - BU, 10 Ringgit Silver Coin (proof) & 100 Ringgit Gold Coins(proof). All of these coins are legal tender in Malaysia.
On the front of the coin display the portrait of His Majesty the King of Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin ibni Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, which was proclaimed as His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong XII, displayed on the center of the coin. His Majesty's full name is listed on the circumference of the coin.
The back of the coin design displays a royal coat of arm. The word "Pertabalan Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong XII" is displayed on the top of the coin as well as the face value of this coin is displayed on the bottom. The date of April 25, 2002, carved under the royal emblem.
