On January 24, 1984, Bank Negara Malaysia issued a 25th Anniversary of Bank Negara Malaysia commemorative coins by displaying the portrait of Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah who is the 5th Pahang Sultan and the 7th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the coin. The coins are made in silver and are legal tender in Malaysia. It is issued in the form of proof and non-proof
The design of the front of the commemorative coins displays the portrait of Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah, the 5th Pahang Sultan and the 7th Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Around the coin is the word "KDYMM SPB SULTAN HAJI AHMAD SHAH AL-MUSTA'IN BILLAH".
The design of the back of the coin displays the official logo of Bank Negara Malaysia and the year 1959-1984 in the middle of the coin. The word "ULANG TAHUN KE 25 BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA" mean "THE 25 YEARS OF THE BANK OF NEGARA MALAYSIA" is placed around the top and the value of the coin on the bottom of the coin.
