Today dinner, I check out another stall at the KLCC Suria Mall food court. This time I visit the stall call Hotplate & Claypot. After looking at their menu, I order the Claypot chicken with salted fish which is sold at RM12 per bowl.

Claypot rice also calls "rice casserole", is a traditional dinner dish from Southern China. It is very popular in Southeast Asia like Malaysia, and Singapore due to many Chinese here. The rice is presoaked, or in some cases, par-cooked, and finished in the claypot with other ingredients which then flavor the rice.

Traditionally, the cooking is done over a charcoal stove, giving the dish a distinctive flavor. Some places serve it with thick, sweetened soy sauce and sometimes dried salted fish.

The food inside the pot loses little to no moisture because it is surrounded by steam, creating a tender, flavorful dish. Water absorbed within the walls of the pot prevents burning.
