Today I have this Green Curry with chicken & Thai Jasmine Rice Ready to eat (MRE) for my dinner.
I brought this from Jaya Jusco because they are having an offer for it, buy 2 for RM19.90. It means buying 2 of them will only cost you RM10 for each box.
Green curry is a central Thai variety of curry. The name "green" curry derives from the color of the dish, which comes from green chilies. The "sweet" in the Thai name refers to the particular color green itself and not to the taste of the curry. As this is a Thai curry based on coconut milk and fresh green chilies, the color comes out creamy mild green or, as this color is called in Thai, "sweet green". Its ingredients are not exactly fixed. The curry is not necessarily sweeter than other Thai curries but, although the spiciness varies, it tends to be more pungent than the milder red curries.
Inside the MRE contain 1 pack of rice, 1 pack of Green Curry with chicken,1 pack of hot pouch, 1 pack of water, and 1 pack of Cutlery.
To heat it up, you put the hot pouch and water in the container. Once you do that, you need to immediately put the pouch under the rice into the container. Close the cover and wait for 10 minutes for it to be ready.
You can even see a stream of steam when it is heating up from the small hole in the center.
I advise you to wait for at least 20 minutes to be certain that the rice is cook. The Heat pouch react slower than expected
