Today I have this Stir-fried Chicken with Basil & Thai Jasmine Rice Ready to eat (MRE) for my dinner.
I brought this from Jaya Jusco because they are having an offer for it, buy 2 for RM19.90. It means buying 2 of them will only cost you RM10 for each box.
Stir-fried Chicken with Basil are actually call Phat kaphrao. Phat kaphrao normally consists of meat such as pork, chicken, beef, and seafood stir-fried with Thai holy basil and garlic. It is served with rice and topped up (optional) with fried eggs or khai dao. The main seasonings are soy sauce, Thai fish sauce, oyster sauce (optional), cane sugar, and bird's eye chili.
Inside the MRE contain 1 pack of rice, 1 pack of Stir-fried Chicken with Basil,1 pack of hot pouch, 1 pack of water, and 1 pack of Cutlery.
To heat it up, you put the hot pouch and water in the container. Once you do that, you need to immediately put the pouch under the rice into the container. Close the cover and wait for 10 minutes for it to be ready.
Unfortunately in my case, I make the mistake of placing the meat pouch on the rice and take it out too early. So I put the rice in a stir-fry pan to make the rice more cook.
