Black market dry bak kut teh
Today, I had dinner at Black Market restaurant inside the Isetan at KLCC. This Spanish and Red Wine restaurant offers Asian cuisine.
This time, I ordered their dry bak kut teh set. It costs RM28 per set, with service tax included. The set contains a bowl of dry bak kut teh with pork meat, a bowl of rice, some fried dough called you char kway and Soy sauce with chopped chilli padi and minced garlic.
For those who don't know what bak ku teh is, it is a pork rib dish cooked in broth popularly served in Malaysia and Singapore.
The bak kut teh dry version is created by boiling the broth longer to turn into a thicker gravy, that has a tangier, sharper taste and is more akin to a herbal stew than the classical broth.
Overall, the meal is great. The presentation is great, the dry bak kut teh sauce is very well done. You can take the dry squid they use as you eat.
