0 19

This coin was issued from 1989 to 1996. On December 7, 2005, the coin was withdrawn by BNM and is no longer a valid Malaysian coin.

The coins were introduced into circulation on September 4, 1989, with the Malaysian tradition of design/theme features. At the beginning of the 1 Ringgit coin circulation, the "$" symbol was used as a denomination symbol. However, on November 14, 1993, it was replaced by the "RINGGIT" symbol.

On the back is a $ 1 denomination on the bottom with the national flower, the Flower, in the upper middle of the coin. The words "Bank Negara Malaysia" mean "NATIONAL BANK OF MALAYSIA" in Malay is written throughout the upper echelon of the year of the coinage between the denominations.

In the foreground is engraved a dagger as the main motif with the design of Songket weaving motifs.

Keris is a traditional Malay weapon that symbolizes power and strength. It is one of the key symbols in the royal administration in Malaysia. Formerly a weapon, the dagger is now used in certain ceremonies and is also a work of art.
