The Malaysia 2nd series 10-cent coins are issued by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). The Money coins were introduced into circulation on September 4, 1989, with the Malaysian tradition of design/theme features.

On the back is a denomination of 10 SENs at the bottom with the national flower, the Flower, in the upper middle of the coin. The words "NATIONAL BANK OF MALAYSIA" are written throughout the upper echelon of the year of the coin toss between the denominations.

On the front is engraved in the traditional game of Congkak being the main design.

 

The Congkak board used for traditional games spare time at home in the village of Malaya by children using marbles. It is made of wood and has several holes. The game has some rules and is played by two people. The Congkak boards usually placed on traditional woven mats which are abundant in the Malay villages.
