Do you like being lectured? I do not think that anyone likes being lectured, especially regarding things that are opposite to their principal in life.
In other words, lectured can also be called a reminder. We are keep being reminded so that we will be able to remember our lesson and used it to improve our quality of life. We listen to a lesson once and we can only use 1% of it for our benefit. We listen to it a few more times and we will be able to use 10% for improving our quality of life. For the other 89%, it will depend on our choice, action, efforts and will.
What if the lesson keeps being pushed onto us several times a day or being mention repetitively in one session of a lesson?
I thought that we might develop rejection and our mind automatically blocked our ability to interpret the lesson given. In addition, if we have another personal problem or interest during the time that the lesson is given, it will even cause our ears to be deaf to the lesson. It is what they called daydreaming I guess. Losing focus before a lesson started is the same as not having a lesson, but then the root of all those daydreaming should be solved first.
The causes of daydreaming can be because of an internal problem personally or outside influences and getting lectured because of those daydreaming will not be helping to improve focus. This is probably the biggest problem a teacher can have during teaching.
Listening but not listening.
Some people are used to be lectured therefore they can listen but they probably did not interpret it. It could probably because they feel that it is not the solution, the feeling of being unfairly judge or the inability to accept, especially if they feel being forced to adapt.
Compromised.
A gift and take attitude. It is a good attitude but then it still needs to be fair for both parties. No matter how obedient or how good a person is, we are still humans with weaknesses. We can break and later we will eventually die. Everyone needs to achieve a satisfying state once in a while, wanting to be fairly judged, wanting to live with ease, not being compared to other and having purposes in life while need to blend in with society.
In the end,
Lessons were mean to be learned through experiences and not to be forced onto. That is the reason why sometimes experiences can beat theories. It takes time, passion and compassion to fall, heal, learn and improve after every lesson. There is no lesson that can be learned in a day and there is no lesson that can be learned without being hurt physically, mentally or emotionally.
