Goodbye

What does 'goodbye' stand for you?

I have one definition of 'goodbye' but three different endings.

Goodbye is usually used when we are leaving someone and goes away in a different direction.

The first goodbye is when it is for a while and I will be back.

The second goodbye is when I am going away and never comes back again.

The third goodbye is when I am going away but we meet again in a different place somewhere without being plan.

It is all the same.

No matter which goodbye it is, it always starts with leaving.

The difference will be...

  • Are you, someone who is precious to somebody that made leaving be a difficult thing to do?

Or...

  • Are you, someone that has no values in other people life, therefore, even if you leave, nobody even notices or care.

What if nobody cares?

It does not matter because after you said goodbye, you are going to leave. That is what goodbye means after all. "I am leaving".

Any reasons to come back?

It depends on those you leave behind. Do they need you? Can you offer them anything good?

It also depends on you. Is it worth it to come back? Is there anything there for you to come back?

Therefore, goodbye.

😅 It is just my share of thoughts about the word Goodbye. I'm glad to know that someone will miss me.

I have no intention to say goodbye to you. How about ignoring the goodbye? If you leave forever you say farewell but I don't believe I ever said it to someone or someone to me. More like "stay safe".

If it comes to saying "goodbye" the difference is also if you say it or someone says it to you.

If I leave my daughter is in bed or at work, does what she always does. It's better for all of us this way. We text a few times a day so there's no goodbye.

See you soon. 😀💕

😁 I would never say the "forever goodbye" to you. Goodbye surely is sad and farewell does sound better.

I think farewell isn't forever either. It's (in my language) a combinated word out of sailing and staying well. We sailed a lot around the world, living from a fishery in the past and I assume people, the family simply wished a safe (sailing) journey.

We skip the goodbye and say "Hi, how do you do" 😁🍀

Won't that be a little awkward to say if you are actually leaving?

In the south part of the country they strangely enough have a word like that if they leave.

I meant to say you don't need to say anything and just leave or say "see you" or "till later" it's what my children say even if it takes months.

I see. It is always hard to say goodbye. It does sound like,"I do not want to see you again".

I think I can get use to "till later". Sound much better to me.

I think it's worse for the receiver of the words, the one who stays behind and watches you leaving. I guess that's why my children say "till later"..
