The Soles that left Cinderella, hahaha! My daughter hilariously told her story to us when the sole of her shoes fell off and left in the lobby while she's walking. lol! Maaaa! Ayaw nyang sumama sakin sa paglakad, napagod at sinukuan nya ako agad! huhu!

Yesterday we went to a mall in nearby town to buy my daughter another pair of school shoes. She's in Grade 11 and the school requires a two inch heels . Their face to face classes started last week of August and it was 50% ftf class scheme at the start. Next week they will implement the 75% ftf classes and that means 3 or 4 days a week until it goes back to a normal set up prior to pandemic.

So why am i going to buy her another pair of school shoes? So here it goes... My husband send her to school everyday and fetch her too after school. Her school is 15 minutes drive away from our place. Over 5km away from our home . Going to and from to school is not a problem.

They started their face to face class last week of August. Twice a week she's going to school and the rest of the day of the week was online. Over a month now since then. We bought her a pair of shoes together with all the stuff needed in school prior to the opening of class.

Yesterday when she was fetched by her dad , i heard them laughing when they arrived. I heard my daughter calling me and tell me that she has a surprise for me.While laughing she handed me her shoes 😂 ! Hahaha! it's sole went off ! As in the whole sole and heels. Goodness! What happen i asked?

I was just walking at the lobby and the soles was left behind,hahaha! as she told me. Her best buddy volunteer to buy her a shoe glue , the one who immediately stick to the surface in seconds but they did'nt know how to use it properly the glue just dries up before they even attach the soles.Epic failed ! hahaha! They tried to fix it , yeah so she could used it again but after that and she tried it , naaaah it crumpled, hahaha!

So she manage to attend her last class with a sole less shoes, lol! We bought a new one yesterday and this time i asked the sales lady why the sole of her shoes suddenly fell off. She told me that the shoes we probably bought a month ago was an old stock. This time i made sure that the shoes we are buying are new stock and durable .

So heres why the soles of her shoes disintegrate or fell off. The sales lady explained to us that due to pandemic , most of the unsold stocks are probably still out in the shelves of the store where we bought her pair a month ago. Shoes , especially the synthetic ones could only lasts for two years even if it's unworn.

The materials and adhesive used dries up making it stiff and even crumpled in time as i said even if it's unworn or unused. The moisture , warmth and humidity hasten the shoes deterioration.

Sometime ago or years back ,shoes were made by skilled craftsmen such as shoemakers in Marikina. When it was said that it's made in Marikina , rest assured that it was made of robust , durable and long lasting materials. I used to buy my shoes around malls in Cubao where Marikina made shoes are being sold. It's worth every penny you have spent. " Mananawa ka sa tibay" if you're waiting for your shoes to deteriorate before buying a new one well that day won't come first.

Sadly nowadays , shoemakers from Marikina suddenly stopped to manufacture , more businesses shut down from recent years. Only a few i guess manage to continue the shoe business. And it was also a sad fact that modern shoes that is made from synthetic materials should'nt last much longer. It is more advisable to buy a new pair instead of repairing it coz repairing it is much costly.

And so here's her new pair. She's wearing it now for school . The sales lady assures us that it would lasts beyond a month, lol! It would be enough to last until she finish her Grade 11. And lets see where less than 1000php or 20$ worth of shoes would take her. I would like to believe it would last upto next year. Crossing my feet , rather my fingers hahaha!
