Life Away From Home , Brain Drain and Gain

A few days ago , my bestie who just migrate to Melbourne recently sent me a photo of her and family just informing me that they are doing good and adjusting to the weather condition there which is cold compared to our recent weather here in the Philippines which is quite moody like me, lol! Waking up with Mr. Sun smiling so bright at me then it went gloomy then blazing hot again. Geez! i guess the weather here is an aquarian too like me, hahaha!
Kidding aside , my bestie says she misses me and just telling me her plans to rest and enjoy their stay there for two weeks before going to hustle and look for a job. Though here , she also have a variety store like me but in her new place she has to work . Her husband is a skilled worker and been to Australia for several years already . Though compensation is quite good but bestie has to work too so she could help her siblings with her own money. Aside from the fact that cost of living there is different compare here in our native land.
What make them decide to live there?
First it was just her husband applying for a work some years back and no plans of getting my bestie and their daughter to live there. But as years go by and life here in our country is shaky and became unstable they decided to migrate to Australia.
Inflation really takes it toll from each and everyone of us. It's getting harder each day. For those working 8 hours plus everyday , compensation was merely spent to transportation and meal expenses everyday. I don't think there will be enough for even a little savings . Ordinary laborer and employees are working just to get by as they say " isang kahig isang tuka!" meaning what you earn for today will just be enough for the day and most of the times not even enough to cover the basic needs.
If you want a brighter future and be compensated with your skills the right way, then one solution is to live and work in a foreign land with your family. Sad but true. Main reason why many Filipinos are living and working in different sides of the world coz of the level of pay. Workers here are not compensated fairly . Just enough to feed a family of three or some are ranting not even enough to feed a family.

According to reports , as early since the 70's ,our country has been experiencing "brain drain " with the migration of highly skilled professionals such as Physicians, Teachers , Mechanics , Engineers and others. They are practicing their professions and skills outside the country or in the foreign land.
A Brain drain in our country yet a brain gain for the receiving country. During the heights of the pandemic , a brain drain in the field of health professionals such as Doctor's and Nurse's are evident. A shortfall in such field occurred while the country are battling with covid-19.
Lack of financial opportunities and career growth are some of the reasons why they migrate to other country. Disparity in a workplace and some other causes.
Best example is one of my cousin whose a Licensed Dentist here and was having a clinic at St. Lukes Hospital but chooses to migrate to NewYork and study again and now a Certified Registered Nurse in NY. The compensation she's getting as a Licensed Dentist here was way way too far from what she's getting now as a Registered Nurse in NY. A 100$ per hour .
Though cost of living and taxes in NY is quite really high , but still they could live an ideal lifestyle of their choice. Career growth is brighter definitely. It pays off to work hard in there as she kept telling me.
In conclusion
My daughter is currently in her Grade 11 and still has a year to finish her Senior high but as early as today, already thinking of working abroad when she finished college and have a degree. Started dreaming a life she wants not here but in the foreign land as well. I can't blame her though .
Not that she does not like to live here anymore but she can't seem to grasp what future holds for her if she works here. Patriotism aside yet practicality shall arise. Will you blame our youth to dream high and build a life away from home?
Thank you for your time again dear friends. Thank you so much for the continuos support though i was away for almost a week.
And to my lovely Sponsors , as always "Salamat ng Marami!" May you all be blessed always.

True yan, super underpaid ng mga labor workers dito. Pati yung contractual hindi pa din naaalis sa ibang companya kaya di nareregular. Hindi mo na din talaga masasabi anong pwedeng maging future ng mga anak mo dito ih
