This is an urban legend. It's a story that happened on a highway in my country. There is a highway that connects a state with my country's capital and this is what happened there...
Legend has it that one fine night, María José Cárdenas from the La Guaira state was preparing to leave for the capital, Caracas. She was very excited because she was getting married.
She was ready to go, but her car would not start, no matter how hard she tried her vehicle would not start. It's then that she decides to call a taxi. While she was on the way to the place where she would congregate, the taxi happened to break down. The taxi then stops and she goes to stop some other vehicle to take her there.
She tried several times until a car finally stopped, she thanks the driver and gets inside. But what the girl had not noticed is that the driver was drunk, while on a curve the driver could not correctly maneuver! A car crash ensued, both losing their lives in this accident.
Legend has it, that since that day the ghost of the girl usually appears at night and tries to stop a car. Once she gets into the car and passes near the scene of the accident she tells the driver: "I died here" and then disappears. This of course, scares the poor driver- incidentally, the girl chooses those drivers who are drinking- the drivers then lose control of the vehicle and ends up in a car accident.
Some other times, she only leaves a bouquet of flowers when passing by the place of her death. Of course, when the driver realizes they're no longer carrying a passenger... the same thing always happens, an accident.
The legend also says that, on the occasion that the driver does not stop to take this passenger, the ghost of the girl appears later on in the same night, stops him and asks: "Why won't you take me?"
Of course, like any good legend, they say that this isn't fictional and that it really happened.
This is really creepy but a good reminder to all drivers to not drink. I have heard similar stories too of souls with unfinished business. Such an unfortunate thing to happen to the girl due to the recklessness of others.
