Summer Activity During A Pandemic: Covid Time
We all experienced this hard time when this Covid-19 thing started, it’s almost been 3 years since then and until now it’s still happening. With the different variant of Covid-19 that’s still spreading the entire world everything is still limited not unless you are located in the countries that Covid-19 doesn’t affect much or they luckily managed the virus attack. During these times people have limited access outside especially on summer vacation, we usually go out, have fun with families and friends, and do things in contact.
When the lockdown started me and my family thought of something to do without going outside since it is not allowed. I suggest doing daily exercises, eating healthy foods and staying away from the internet that spreads bad vibes and fake news. The total lockdown in our province lasted for almost 5 months, after that the lockdown was lifted but with strict policies. After 2 months the policies changed into a moderate lockdown in the city so we are already allowed to go outside but we can only do non-contact activities. I tried airsoft sport where you used a toy gun and got into a team to do some gun action with other members but it's a distant activity so definitely, it is a non-contact sport. That was my main activity during the pandemic time, I got so fond of it like I played 3 to 4 times a week straight for months.
After a few months, the tourism industry was already allowed to operate but still had a very limited number of participants or guests. We planned to go to a glamping area that was trending in our place called “Kiudkad: the last resort” located in Siruma Camarines Sur. The ambience was breathtaking, with the open view of the front beach overlooking from the “black house” where we stayed as our accommodation for the night. It’s more likely an open area with a view of natural resources, so I went there with my friends. We are 12 in our group, that was the maximum number of people that the place can only accommodate at that time. Two days of staying in the resort was a bit short because it is far from the city with a two and half hour drive. The place was highly recommended to visit. It has a surfing spot too, you can also pitch a tent, bring your food to cook and have some drinks at night. In the morning there’s a spot in there to watch the sunrise, that was the best part of the place. The bonus thing is that there is also a spot for sunset; you just have to drive a little distance from the resort then you’ll see the place. As part of the package, we got free breakfast for the whole team, by the way, the set-up of the dining area was cosy and looked expensive. The resort also offers rental for kayaking and surfing but it depends on the weather. Staying there was satisfactory and I hope to go back soon this 2022.
The Kiudkad escape was the first time I got out a bit free during the pandemic time, then next was hammocking. The usual set-up of a hammock is in a tree, in a cottage or in a camping area where you can hang it. I have this friend who owns a travel and tour agency and invited me to set a hammock in 150 feet located in Panicuason Hotspring resort. It was too high for a hammock and too scary to set up but we managed to do it since they are trained in outdoor activities and they are also a member of the city’s rescue team so I didn't worry much and I always feel safe when I am with them. The experience was extraordinary, it is not usual to set up a hammock with those high feet and no one can do that except them so I am lucky to experience the moment. Anyway, when I do this hammocking thing they are my usual company for such activities. That was fun but don’t do that if you are not well trained, you might get into an accident.
The next thing I did during the pandemic was camping. I have this friend who owns a farm and they turned it into a farm resort. They put a pool, cottages and venue area for events like birthdays, family gatherings, weddings and different kinds of parties. The camping area was also available on the farm where I set up my tent and spent the night there. My friend didn’t invite other friends so we can talk a lot and bond with each other since I don't go to that farm. In the morning we did a little hike and watched the sunrise. Outside the farm there’s this one little food store that offers special noodle soup, we ate there for breakfast. The noodle soup was tasty and it was so cheap, we paired it with fried banana. I spent the day on the farm just fine and I enjoyed it.
This is my highlight for summer vacation during the pandemic, it was very short and limited due to health policies and regulations of the city. Well, at least I got the chance to spend a bit of my vacation even though it's pandemic time. I am still lucky. In these times the only thing you can do is think positive, don’t entertain bad thoughts as the pandemic is already stressing us out, let’s make ourselves busy and mind only important things that will help us to survive every day. After all, this covid thing will pass no matter what, maybe not today not tomorrow but the day will come that everything will go back to normal and the things that we did before the pandemic will become our normal days again. Just be patient, have faith and let God do His plan for us.

Mukhang relaxing yung mga lugar. Kailangan natin 'to! Gusto ko ng mga ganitong pasyalan at mga adventures kaso mukhang malabo na naman ngayong 2022. Sana wala ng mga virus na panibagong magsilabasan.
