Monsoon rains create magic, casting a spell on us.
In Bangladesh, the rainy season is blessed by the tropical monsoon climate -- it is colourful, like a rainbow. After a day-long heavy rainfall, a sudden rainbow flashes across the sky.
The poet Nazrul tried to portray the hidden beauty of the monsoon through his songs: “Esho hey shojolo shyamo ghono deya, chanchalo shaymolo elo gogone.”
Tagore was also mesmerised by the beauty of monsoon, and tried to convey his feelings thus: “Elo boroshar shoghono dibosh, bonoraji aaji bakul bibosh, bakul bithika mukul-e motto kannon-pore, nabo kadambo shodir gondhe akul kore.”
In the rainy season, the haors, baors (wetlands), and rivers become a sea, and nature decorates itself with water everywhere, village-streets are covered with mud, and everywhere there is the sound of frogs and insects, and so much more.
Most countries of the world are bereft of the blessings and beauty of the monsoon climate.
