Obedient or NOT...

TL;DR (Too long, didn't read/summary)

• I have been in the state of Oregon, USA recently...

• Oregon Gov has “required everyone” must wear a mask beginning July 1st (earlier this week)

• I value my health, therefore I do NOT wear a mask (DYOR)

• This “requirement” is NOT lawful (detailed below)

• I shopped in multiple stores today WITHOUT any mask with ZERO problems, not even a sneer!

• Is tomorrow (July 4th) a celebration of Independence or just mere obedience to tyrants?

Oregon Governor Dictates Face Masks Required “Everywhere in the State”?

As many have probably heard, dino-media has been screaming we must (archive backup here) “Gov. Kate Brown is requiring Oregonians to wear face masks everywhere in the state” (starting back on July 1)!

• Is this true?

• Has there been a new or updated Executive Order with this requirement?

• Where/What are the details?

• Is this Lawful?

• What happens if one doesn't wear a mask?

Is it true that Gov. Kate Brown Says Wearing Face Masks is Required of “Everyone”?

Yes!

This is true as can be seen on this page (archive backup here) from the “Governors Office”

“Portland, OR—Governor Kate Brown announced today that Oregonians statewide will be required to wear face coverings in indoor public spaces, beginning this Wednesday July 1. The guidance applies to businesses and members of the public visiting indoor public spaces.”

Has there been a new or updated Executive Order with this New Face-Mask Order?

No!

This page (archive backup here) lists all executive orders (EO) from Gov Kate Brown. The most recent EO dealing with “Covid-19 and dated June 30, 2020 (EO 20-27) has NO mention of this statewide mask order nor does any other EO. There is a note in §-21 (Guidance) that the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) shall provide “guidance” which “may be amended from time to time”!

So, there is an EO that says the OHA can “modify the requirements from time to time”! Wow, doesn't that make you feel good? The OHA can now make any requirement for how Oregonians LIVE day-to-day without a new EO! How many of you voted for anyone at the OHA? (As if voting has ever solved our problems, ha!)

Where/What are the Details of this Statewide Mask Order?

The OHA's COVID-19 information page is here. This page (archive backup here) reiterates Gov. Kate Browns requirement (there is nothing about this in an EO) that “Face Coverings Requirement are Extended Statewide”. EO 20-27 says its up to the OHA to determine requirements, yet here OHA says its Kate Brown making the requirement. Seems like a circular argument as to who actually made the requirement. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with deniability or responsibility could it? 🤔😉

From the OHA COVID-19 page there is a pdf document “Statewide Mask Guidance”. This document is titled:

Statewide Mask, Face Shield, Face Covering Guidance

Hmmmm…. “guidance” doesn't sound like a word I would use when detailing a REQUIREMENT. Does it to you?

There is NO mention of ANY fine or any other penalty if “guidance” is not followed!

Maybe they are smarter than I often give them credit for since they CANNOT lawfully require ANYONE (generally) to wear a mask! More on this in the next section...

Is this Lawful, Constitutional Etc…?

I’ve already touched on the fact (just above) the “Guidance” document makes ZERO mention of any penalties and that there is no EO that specifically calls for mandatory statewide mask wearing. It seems clear to me that they know they have NO lawful authority to make wearing masks a requirement for all and that they are just using word salad… word games (with a HUGE boost from the collectivist dino-media) to make it SOUND LIKE its a Lawful Order.

But it is NOT!

Another significant detail is that Executive Orders ONLY apply to those that work/report to that branch of governments head, in this case Gov. Kate Brown. EO’s do NOT apply to the public generally!

Even the VERY politically correct Wikipedia has a quote (archive backup here):

“Executive orders are simply presidential directives issued to agents of the executive department by its boss.”

There is a reason this stuff is NEVER taught in government schools!

My Experience in Local Businesses Today While NOT Wearing a Mask-NO Problems of ANY Kind!

• Local Bank

  At the drive-up window (attempting to cash a check), the teller said I needed to come inside. I mentioned that I didn't have a mask and without any hesitation the teller said no problem, just come in (they just wanted a thumbprint).

• WalMart

  Without wearing a mask, I entered the local WalMart and right away passed at least three employees of which at least 2 made eye contact with me. While I was in the store only about 10-minutes, I passed at least 20 employees and of course MANY customers. NO one said anything to me or even gave me any dirty looks! I was not the only one without a mask. While recent history (even just 1-week ago), the vast majority of customers were NOT wearing masks, today was probably the opposite. I would guesstimate that about 85% were wearing a mask. But that means about 15% were disobedient! 👍

• Grocery Store

  I was actually in and out of this store a couple times today, never wearing a mask. Again, no one said anything to me or gave me any bad looks! This store also had about 15% disobedience (not wearing a mask) among its customers while I was there!

Of course there is no guarantee that my experience today will be the same in the future. Your experience could easily vary, especially for those in/near larger metro areas.

Independence Day-Is it?

Have Americans Become Merely Just Obedient to their Rulers?

Tomorrow is July 4th. Historically it’s been a time of celebrating our Independence. Is it still?

The more individuals that are disobedient to tyrants the better in my opinion! And it doesn't take a majority to succeed as proven by the founders of these United States! Join me (if you have not already) in being disobedient!
