Living and working in the United States, you should save some money regardless of citizenship.

If you want to listen to the article, click play, the option is still in progress, and I may remove it in the future or improve it.

Many people are leaving their place of birth move and into the United States for a better future and who can't blame them earning below $20 a day and living under that budget is not easy. It is even more complicated if you have a family. That is why many decide to sell everything and immigrate to the USA, and some do it illegally.

The minimum wage in the United States in some states is $15 an hour, but your rent will be at least $600, if not more, and if you don't have a car, your monthly payment will be at least $200, not including insurance and other charges. And a car together with a cell phone is a need that you must cover somehow, not a privilege.

Suppose you come illegally to the United States, at first. In that case, you will feel like you are doing better than your home country, especially if you live with friends and family; you feel like you are saving money. Still, in reality, the reason you are holding on is that your family is subsidizing your rent cost, providing you a ride to work, and even helping you with your phone bill by adding you to their family plan.

As long as your goal is to build up a future back in your country and build it little by little, you will feel like you are progressing, and don't take me wrong, you are. But eventually, you will fall in love with the convenience that the United States economic machine engine offers, like stores every 5 minutes, gas stations with just a 5 minutes ride, good roads, and relative security.

If you are living with someone else to save on rent and sending that money back, it means that you will go back at some point, but what happens if you start to build a life here like you got a wife and kids? And they are from here. At that point, you will realize that you can earn a lot of dollars here in the United States, but in the end, you live here, and you spend and pay the prices of business here in the United States; in short, you earn dollars you spend dollars.

If you come into the United States to save money, I can't prevent you nor change your mind. You have the right to try a better future for yourself but if you ever come here, have in mind that things are not as they appear and living in the United States is not easy at all and that if you manage to accumulate money, you are the exemption, not the norm.

Saving money is one of the hardest things to do in the United States because the economic machine is designed so that you part ways with your hard-earned money. After the years have passed, you will realize that the same machine is designed to keep you where you are, and it is tough to move up the economic ladder but possible with enough effort.

In conclusion.

If you ever make it here and have goals to improve your life back home, never forget them and try to build them even if it means you will sleep in a closet and build your wealth by working harder and more intelligent. And if you ever decide to stay, try to make it your home mark to save money as much as possible because the United States is the land of milk and honey but only to those who are willing to sacrifice greatly and smartly as well. And I would add this could be for every immigrant around the world regardless of country of origin and destination.

I guess the point of my article will be for you to save up money and try to improve your life, and that is regardless of whether you are an immigrant or not. The best part will be to invest those savings into something that gains value over time to avoid the inflation bite that many fiat currencies have always had and will continue to have in the future, save some crypto.

SO true! Many people think life in the USA is a Golden Ticket to riches. But at every turn we face bills that are in-line with higher wages, such that for many, saving is an impossibility! Still with resolve, some good luck, and good friends and mentors, a person in the USA can do well for themselves. I wish more people in the USA had exposure to Bitcoin - for me, that changed a lot of bad spending habits. Good article, cheers friend!

Yeah saving is necessary no matter how much you are earning. And in flashy and well economic countries like USA, and Australia sometimes the charms swallows you and you end up forgetting your real motive. I believe you live in USA?
